Not weekly fund raising dinners more of the anti-government movement PDRC. Action leader Suthep has scrapped them after being reprimanded by couple leader Prayuth Chan-ocha.

He has, without mentioning Suthep's name, contradicted Suthep's claim that since the 2006 coup the two had been in contact about the best way to end the 'Thaksin regime'.

Prayuth denied colluding with anyone in his weekly TV speech on Friday. "As the political situation deteriorated, the army was forced to solve the problem." He also said an end to political talk gatherings and fundraising dinners, referring to the dinner at which Suthep made his offending statement.

Suthep had wanted to hold a series of dinners entitled 'Dinner with Lung Kamnan' to raise money for the victims of the rallies and the families of those who lost their lives. The first dinner took place on June 21.

It was also the second time that Suthep had irritated the military authorities. A few days after the coup, Suthep and other PDRC leaders organized a party, where many visitors were dressed in camouflage clothing. A spokesman for the NCPO strongly disapproved of this. Not appropriate for citizens 'under the current circumstances'.
