Private hospitals: 'Registration and prepayment is no guarantee of a Moderna vaccination'

Not everyone who has reserved and paid for the Moderna vaccine at a private hospital will receive a vaccination, as an allocation system will be in place, said Private Hospitals Association chairman Chalerm Harnphanich.
The private hospitals have placed an order for 5 million doses through the GPO, which will sign a supply agreement on their behalf with Zuellig Pharma Thailand, the local representative. Despite that order, 1,1 million of the 5 million doses will first go to the Thai Red Cross and to the Siriraj and Ramathibodi hospital. This leaves only 3,9 million doses for private hospitals.
Research into the demand shows that 277 of the 330 affiliated private hospitals have reserved a total of 9,2 million doses. To distribute the remaining supply evenly, all 277 hospitals will first receive 10.000 doses each. At least 194 hospitals will get 100 percent of their bookings as they need less than 10.000 each.
The remaining 2,4 million doses will be distributed among hospitals allocated the vaccines based on their demand, which is already much higher (7,7 million doses). Each hospital has to decide for itself who gets the vaccination, he said.
When asked if more vaccines are being ordered now, Chalerm said his group already planned to order 5 to 10 million doses of the second generation of the vaccine, delivery of which is expected to take place in the second quarter of next year .

Yes, that will stay inside for another year. Whether you should be happy if you do get the first injection in October of this year and the second in the second quarter, so at the earliest in April, then there is almost six months in between. I don't think it's useful to distribute evenly over the hospitals. The hospitals in the hot spots should be supplied the most in my opinion.
