Pattaya City Council plans to host five major events to boost tourism as fully vaccinated visitors from low-risk countries will be allowed quarantine-free from November 1.

Pattaya Mayor Sonthaya Khunplome wants to quickly revive his city's tourism industry after the covid pandemic has paralyzed tourism for 1,5 years.

Pattaya City is fully prepared to open its doors to tourists as Covid-19 vaccinations have been accelerated for all residents, including the workers (both Thai and migrant) and foreign expatriates. More than 70% of people in Pattaya have already received a second dose of Covid-19 vaccine, while a third injection has been administered to 100% of the population on Koh Lan, a popular island off the coast of Pattaya, the mayor said. The municipality will also speed up the vaccinations for 4.000 students.

In addition to these measures, the Pattaya City Municipality also plans to host five major events from the first week of November. The events are:

  1. The Pattaya Music Festival
  2. Loy Krathong
  3. International Fireworks Show
  4. the Na Klua Walking Street market
  5. and the Countdown for the New Year

Damrongkiat Pinitkarn, secretary of the Entertainment Venues and Tourism Association in Pattaya, said the Prime Minister's announcement that the ban on alcoholic beverages in restaurants could be lifted on December 1 is good news for business operators and employees. According to him, the catering entrepreneurs are ready to receive tourists again.

Stimulate tourism. It's just a joke! The government says so, but the question is whether they really want it? Received a call today from a lawyer from Amsterdam who also wants to return to his home in Thailand with his partner. He himself already has an annual visa and is now also applying for a visa for his partner,
Response from the embassy: You can make an appointment for December 7, yes, you read that correctly, December 7
after that he still has to take into account about 30 days before everything is arranged. His question to the man at the embassy: why is it taking so long. Answer : we are busy!!
My question; is that true? How many Dutch people want (and can) go on holiday to Thailand in November? I don't know, but my feeling tells me that there really won't be that many.
In any case, it is not an incentive!

Indeed, if that's true then this is absolutely ridiculous. Crowds can hardly be an issue, at least not for issuing a visa. Is there someone (eg from Thailandblog) who can contact the ambassador directly? Relationships often give better access to information. With messages like this, we don't even think about giving it a try.

News followed on oriental travel Thailand:

10 countries will be able to enter on 01/11: Germany, England, Australia, China, US, and Singapore, the 4 others have yet to be determined, the rest may follow on January 1 (also not yet in the Royal Gazette)

If you don't give tourists perspective, there won't be a “small” high season again this year.
They are not smashing the windows, but they are putting bars in front of them.

Embassies are also not available (at least in Belgium) only by e-mail (very slowly).
According to the consulate, almost all employees have been placed on temporary unemployment,
    It's not really stimulating.

Apparently it has become a sport to give people hope and be taken away in the same sense.

It is unfortunately true what has been said make an appointment and come by sometime in December. Oh yes, I asked if I had to make a second appointment to collect documents or visa again, it was not necessary. I called back later yes you must have an appointment or return envelope?? Don't understand for a moment why there is so much incorrect or incomplete information on their website (or I must have misread/understood it all).

If anyone has accurate information, please share.

It is unfortunately true what Hendry wrote, I had already arranged everything myself flight, insurance and ASQ hotel in Pattaya for December with the thought that I was well on time, not so.
I contacted a visa service agency via the Internet and they are now arranging my visa application, which costs a bit, but now I hope that the embassy will issue my visa

Dear Theo, I have called in this agency and every Monday they go to the embassy with various applications. To date I have been helped perfectly, I had also taken the check beforehand and this showed that 2 documents were not present and sent them anyway.
