Thai authorities have issued lèse-majeste charges against former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced yesterday that they have revoked Thaksin's two Thai passports.

The move is seen as a response to Thaksin's interview in Seoul last Wednesday with Chosun Ilbo, when he alleged that key private individuals secretly supported the May 22 coup that ousted his Yingluck. The interview was circulated on social media and widely viewed in Thailand.

The police believe that the interview is subject to the law on lèse majesté, and it would also have criminal consequences due to the application of the computer crime law. The State Department issued a statement yesterday saying parts of Thaksin's interview undermine the "national security and dignity" of the country. As a result, the ministry revoked Thaksin's passports.

Norachit Singhasenee, Permanent Secretary of Foreign Affairs, said it is not uncommon for Thaksin to have two passports. Every Thai citizen is entitled to two passports. For example, business people who travel regularly can continue to use their passports, because they often have to apply for a visa and surrender their passport. It can sometimes take weeks to issue a visa, so you can continue to travel abroad on the extra passport.

If the shoe fits, wear it. Soap operas without soap are also possible in Thailand, and indeed, to accuse is to condemn, there is no court or lawsuit involved.

    Dear people,

It's time they lock up this corrupt family.
Because this family is to blame that Thailand is now in trouble, and I hope that this PM will continue to lock up these criminals.
And if there are any Dutch or Belgians who think that these Thaksin or Yingluck have done something good for this beautiful country, then I advise these men to go to Dubai together with a partner from the Isaan, then the scammer, Thaksin, will to support.

And when all those red ones leave Thailand, it will finally be fun here and much safer!!!

    Best regards,

    A true Thailand enthusiast.

In my opinion, it is not at all about the Thaksin family per se, but much more about the fact that they were the representatives of a democratically elected party, which has its large following among the simple people of the country.
Even if this Thaksin family were to be replaced by another, the problem remains that the much smaller opposition, mainly made up of the small elite minority, will again be in the minority in the next election, so that the problems start from the front.
The smaller opposition, which has a lot to gnaw at the loss of power, will also look for mistakes that do not fit into their concept in a future democratically elected government, so that they raise the issue again, and take to the streets, and make an attempt to to occupy the government building, so that the country is actually ungovernable.
The problem Thailand has at the moment is the constant tug-of-war for power, which unfortunately is often based on neid and vulture, because the meaning of real democracy is not yet known to many Thais.

A dictatorship ruling a country can never ask the international community to hand over a democracy's chosen prime minister. Even though it went wrong. Then democracy will come first
have to return again, foreign countries will never extradite Thaksin as long as the situation in Thailand remains the same.

Earlier I already mentioned the readability of the book Taksin
for sale at the asia bookshop
Then you understand the ins and outs of this piece of politics AND the recent coup
Democracy bought is not real democracy!

I wrote that the village where my wife comes from and the meadow environment there is well disposed to everyone Taksin because they get employment.
I also think that we as foreigners should adopt a tolerant and neutral attitude, rather than cursing one or the other colour.
I also said that Thailand is still not Venezuela and Taksin is not Chavez.
