At a large factory in Samut Sakhon that prepares gift packages for monks, officials discovered major irregularities. The assembled packages contained out-of-date products and counterfeit labels, with some items using expired FDA numbers.

About twenty foreign employees were found in the factory, who had to put together the packages with different products and prepare the baskets for shipment. The products found that had something wrong with them were powdered drinks, drinking water, painkillers, cough tablets and soap.

Some products were found to carry expired Food and Drug Administration registration numbers. This can also indicate fake products. Redistributing tea from large to small bags is not allowed without a permit. Some products were of poor quality.

Officials have collected documents and evidence for legal prosecution of the plant.

It is common knowledge that there is a whole trade behind these "gift packages"... After the ceremony in which the monks received their package, it is neatly returned (for an agreed fee) to the distributor... and so the mill continues to run. . It's all about money...I have never seen a monk with a "smile" receive a package, but I did when he brought a backpack with banknotes into the bank for me to put on the account...because there are then do much more fun things with it. A new cell phone, a lot more expensive than mine... a plane ticket in Business Class (never seen a monk in Economy)... That's just how it goes...

What does it matter? The packages you give to the monks are brought back to the shop via the side window, the back door or just en publique and sold again… some packages are sold again 6 times a day and just as quickly returned to the shop…
So about the date? Doesn't surprise me!
