'Minivans have to leave the Victory Monument in Bangkok'

To end traffic congestion, improve passenger safety and increase control, the Thai government wants to move the more than 4.200 mini-vans that are located at the Victory Monument in Bangkok to three bus terminals elsewhere in the city.
This move should take place in October. Daroon Saengchai, deputy secretary for transportation, said on Friday that the more than 4.000 inter-provincial minivans should be moved to the Mor Chit, Ekamai and Taling Chan bus terminals.
In order not to inconvenience the passengers of the vans too much, the Bangkok Mass Transit Authority would use shuttle buses between the Victory Monument and the three bus terminals.
The ministry also wants to apply similar measures in other provinces.

The minivans are directly on the highway from the Victory monument and yes there are too many.
And yes, it had already been decided to move them to Makkasan station, also on behalf of the current authorities, and that has therefore not been done or. reversed or not followed by the minibus drivers.
And now the unfortunate idea of moving them to distant stations.
Shuttle buses will operate between the Victory Monument and the three bus terminals. You're laughing your ass off about that minibus policy. I won't say anything more about it, what traffic experts they have in house in Bangkok.
Too bad, it's always very handy to jump into the minivans at Victory if you need to be somewhere in the province. All the way to Mo chit or Ekamai that increases the travel time considerably. I will miss them.
For the Thai, these minibuses are very efficient for traveling from their place of residence in the Bangkok conurbation to the center and back. Far destinations are also visited: Ayutthya, Hua Hin, Pattaya, Koh Samet, Koh Chang, and even Cambodia.
The many waiting minibuses cause the crowds. I suspect this is because arriving minibuses have to wait their turn before they can get back to work. During rush hour, a minibus is quickly filled and leaves immediately.
For travelers, a transfer from/to the shuttle bus will take more time.
More (big) buses at Victory Monument? They are already having trouble getting their passengers on and off.
Unfortunately, moving the minibuses will not solve the biggest problem.
Get the idiots who drive it off the road.
If I can avoid it I will stay out of it wherever they are or will be in the future.
The reactions rightly show that maneuverability and speed are the highest qualities of the minibuses.
Unfortunately, those are also the highest risks.
My wife and I therefore avoid using the minibuses. How convenient.
Some checking of the drivers for jaba (christal meth) and other pep stuff would help reduce the deadly executions.
I don't think anything changes, I used to live on Soi Rangnaam, it's a complete madhouse there
