Thai activists have called on their compatriots via Facebook to take to the streets in the capital Bangkok on Sunday to demonstrate against the junta.

In Bangkok, many soldiers are ready to prevent these demonstrations. The Ratchaprasong intersection was closed for a number of hours, but has now reopened. The protesters did not show up.

The call to demonstrate was spread via Facebook by activist Sombat Boonngam-anong, one of the more than 250 people who were summoned by the military. About seventy Thai are still in custody. Sombat himself has gone into hiding.

The demonstration was planned at a McDonald's branch in central Bangkok. A branch of the restaurant in the capital has become a gathering place for protesters due to its convenient location, prompting McDonald's in Thailand to profess its political neutrality this week. The fast food chain also warned against misuse of its logo. Banners have been spotted on which the 'm' in the word democracy has been replaced by the McDonald's logo.

    Fine, those red shirts.

A few days ago a small bomb exploded in a Familymart at Khon Kaen University.

The owner of Familymart is of course a yellow shirt.

The perpetrator is said to be on the surveillance camera.

Suthep is finally off the streets with his followers, finally peace and trade can continue again. Let them put their affairs in order first, next year's elections, that's soon enough.
