Three rail projects in Thailand will take longer than expected. The contracts cannot be signed this year, as previously announced. These are the metro lines Yellow-line (Lat Phrao-Samrong) and Pink-line (Khae Rai-Min Buri).

The double-track line Kanchanaburi – Aranyaprathet and Bangkok – Chiang Mai, both a co-production of Japan and Thailand, is also experiencing delays. The feasibility study for this project has not yet been completed.

The three projects are part of an ambitious plan by the military government for 20 rail, water and air transport projects. Most contracts for this infrastructure renewal will be signed this year, says Secretary of State for Transport Peerapol.

    Well,

The three projects are part of a WAY TOO ambitious plan by the military government.

We have already written about it, high speed line from China to Bangkok in………….48 months????

870 km and that straight through Laos with its many mountains (read tunnels and bridges)

Everyone already knew, including the government.

Too bad about the BTS and MRT lines, which Bangkok needs more than very much.

    Nico
