Krabi airport is being expanded

There are far-reaching plans for the expansion of Krabi Airport. The plan includes expansion of the service area, the number of runways and parking options.

Expansion is necessary because Krabi serves as a backup for Phuket airport, which is congested. Krabi is designed for 3 million passengers per year. Last year, the number of passengers increased by 30 percent. The expansion plan will be ready in June. The work is estimated at 2,5 billion baht.

The new passenger terminal at Phuket Airport will also open in June. Betong in southern Yala will have a new airport that will open in 2018.
