Dutch Embassy Bangkok

Text on the website of the Dutch embassy in Bangkok:

Due to busy business activities, Mr. Van Loo, at his own request, decided to request an honorable discharge as honorary consul to Chiang Mai.

Pending a decision on his succession, consular services will be taken over by the Dutch Embassy in Bangkok from that date. Many of the consular acts can now be handled in writing.

More information you will find information about this under products and services on this website (consular statements). As far as actions for which one has to appear in person, it is necessary from April 19 to handle these at the Embassy in Bangkok. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause in the near future.

This means that the last Consular day in Chiang Mai is Wednesday 18 April.

The closing of the Consulate in Chiang Mai is a great loss and inconvenience for all Dutch people and even the Belgians.
To have to travel to Bangkok again for a Consulate visit is terribly inconvenient and very expensive.

So, dear Consul in Bangkok, just make sure that there is a new settlement of a Dutch Consulate in ChiangMai as soon as possible.
Then again a lot of “Dutchies” are made happy.

    Many thanks in advance.

Mr. Rien Tribe in Sansai Noi in Chiang Mai
