Good news for expats who like to watch movies and series. Netflix, the American television and movie streaming giant, announced yesterday at the Consumer Electronics Show 2016 in Las Vegas that it will expand its service to 130 countries, including Thailand.
Netflix now has almost seventy million users and is growing fast, especially outside the American home market. This year, $ 6 billion will be spent on films and series and last year Netflix already put about fifty of its own titles online.
Movie buffs in Thailand get the first month free, but you need a credit card or a PayPal account. Netflix-Thailand has three subscriptions; 280 baht per month for the standard package, 350 baht per month (with HD and the ability to stream on two devices) and 420 baht per month (with Ultra HD and the ability to stream on up to four devices).
Thai subtitles are not available yet. This will probably also apply to the Dutch subtitles.
FYI: Yesterday I installed a test subscription for fun via Netflix NL. Prices as stated are indeed in Thb and …. indeed Dutch subtitles.

Most films lack Dutch subtitles, a small number do, I may have missed something with the settings.

One can also get a vpn app for free. download in the android store or the apple store .. a vpn server ensures that you are exactly in the country you choose ... e.g. the netherlands . even if you are on the other side of the world ...
There are vpn apps with different country choices, e.g. the Netherlands, United States, Australia, Belgium, etc…. If one then logs in to the Netherlands, for example, one will receive the Dutch Netflix with the advantage of also receiving Dutch series and films.
Same for Belgium vpn server in belgium and then you have the belgian netflix .. with homegrown productions .
You can actually pay once with the VPN app. receive netflix anywhere from any specific country that offers netflix .
For example, the American Netflix offers a much larger selection and much more recent films and series.
