The Indonesian navy recently blew up 37 fishing vessels, including a number of Thai boats. The authorities strictly monitor illegal fishing in the country's territorial waters.

Every year, Indonesia loses millions of euros in income because fishermen from neighboring countries fish illegally in the seas around the country.

The illegal fishermen come from countries such as Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines and Malaysia. The crew of the boats have been arrested and their catch confiscated. In addition to the foreign boats, four Indonesian fishing boats were also sunk because they did not have the required documents.

The government has been cracking down on illegal fishing in recent years. Not only does poaching on the water hinder Indonesian fishermen, the way in which illegal fishermen operate also causes major environmental damage. The waters around Indonesia are rich in rare coral reefs, fish species and turtles.

    a good case
each must remain in his territory
seen in the North Sea in the 80s that Danish fishermen went fishing with explosives, around the wrecks, albeit outside territorial waters
the danes have destroyed fish stocks in the North Sea
they were scrupulous and unconcerned that anglers were around
well Indonesia is right, straight into the depths, maybe they will learn to stay away and start fishing in their waters

In 1995 a Thai fish scannery already complained that their competitors used dynamite to chase fish out of the coral into their nets. This is of course disastrous for the coral. Not a Thai policeman, who acted (yes, hand open to catch some paper to cover the eyes…

Fun and burning a fishing boat in such a way is certainly environmentally friendly

    Wonderful action from Indonesia.
Just waving the finger that they can't do it anymore doesn't help.
The boats do destroy. You can no longer fish illegally with it.
The coral reefs have now been more than sufficiently destroyed. Only rigorous measures now help to save that.

Yes indeed, great action and also good for the environment. Fuel, lubricating oil, everything into the depths…………..

Now I understand why the Thai navy wants to buy submarines. Can they sink the Indonesian Navy and protect their fishing boats.
