The province of Prachuap Khiri Khan (Hua Hin) may be opened in October to foreign tourists who have been vaccinated. The condition is that mass vaccination of the local population can be started in June.

The National Tourism Policy Committee wants major tourist provinces such as Prachuap Khiri Khan, Phetchaburi, Buri Ram and Bangkok to open from October 1 to foreign visitors who are in possession of a valid Covid-19 vaccination certificate. They do not have to go into mandatory quarantine, said Krod Rojanastien, director of Trade of Thailand (BTT) and chairman of the Thai Spa Association.

The reopening of tourism would provide a huge boost to local businesses that have been decimated for more than a year by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Krod calls it the “Hua Hin Recharge Project” and hopes to see cooperation from the government sector, public health institutions and the tourism and service companies. Part of the plan is to organize mass vaccination in Hua Hin and educate people in all sectors about the benefits of the vaccination in order to quickly achieve herd immunity. For that, the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) must prioritize Hua Hin in the issuance of vaccines.

this would be a good thing on the way to a more “normal” situation. Hopefully Bangkok and the province of Roi Et, among others, will follow soon (so without quarantine) and then I could go to Thailand again at the end of this year or in January 2022. But I think that many Thailand visitors hope that with me…

Would be fantastic. But the National Committee for Tourism Policy, unfortunately, is not alone. But if it comes to that, we will go to Thailand in November 2021.

If only a few provinces open, would this mean that you can only travel from one province to another with domestic flights? Because if you travel by bus or train you also have to go through provinces that may not be open to tourists.

Stan, that will be a visitation! From province to province by air is possible almost exclusively via Bangkok. That means a higher risk in Bangkok…
