HSL line Don Mueang – Suvarnabhumi – U Tapao operational in 2023

The contracts for the construction of the HSL Don Mueang-Suvarnabhumi-U Tapao will be signed at the end of January 2019, the line should be operational in 2023. Governor Voravuth of the State Railway of Thailand (SRT) announced this yesterday.
Several companies have signed up to build the line. They must submit their bid by 12 November at the latest.
The 220 km line will cost 224 billion baht. The current Airport Rail Link from Suvarnabhumi to Phaya Thai will then be extended to Don Mueang and U-tapao.
The ambitious mega project is being accelerated and is part of the government's plans to develop the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC). The provinces of Chachoengsao, Chonburi and Rayong are designated for the development of the EEC, the area covers more than 13.000 km2.

i see there will be a new connection from DON MUEANG to U TAPAO….the HSL line…is this the so called skytrain as they say….who knows more about this?….
THANKS IN ADVANCE.
Some information is in the following link:
http://englishnews.thaipbs.or.th/high-speed-train-project-linking-don-mueang-suvarnabhumi-u-tapao-gets-construction-approval/
I don't think it will save much time and money to travel from Suvarnabhumi to your hotel/apartment in Pattaya.
The Ticket price will cost about 250 thb to the Pattaya station (from Suvarnabhumi), and that you then have to take a taxi from Pattaya station to your hotel / apartment, knowing Thai (price mutually agreed) will cost at least 150 to 200 thb.
The total costs will therefore cost 400 to 450 thb with a speed gain to the pattaya station, where you (if things go against you (and that is often the case in Pattaya)), all in all, just as much time and costs are lost than now.
Moral of this story, some pockets have been filled again, and many thousands of (Thai) workers have work for the next 5 years, and can then pay the cost of their living.
Well,
We can forget about the HSL with a speed of 300 km per hour.
The Airport Rail Link runs at a maximum speed of 80 km per hour.
The current skytrain system from Suvarnabhumi to Phaya Thai and then through to Don Muang Airport station was already part of the “Red” line. This “Red line” is almost ready, only part of Phaya Thai to Bang Sue is missing. The opening of the “Red line” will be early next year.
So quite a bit of work has to be done from Suvarnabhumi to U-Tapao.
But........ we are now used to the opening being pushed forward in Thailand.
This is Thailand
I always travel with the Airport Rail Link, which is fine, but if it is not fast, they will still have to upgrade a few things.
