Thai Honda Co Ltd has confidence in Thailand as a production base, as evidenced by the fact that the Japanese manufacturer will increase production for domestic sales.

Thai Honda says it will maintain its manufacturing base in Thailand as the company celebrates a milestone of producing 45 million multi-purpose motorcycles. Thailand's Honda president, Shigeto Kimura, noted that the company has added or expanded new production lines for multi-purpose engines, such as power generators, water pumps, marine engines and lawnmowers.

The company's factory is located in Lat Krabang Industrial Estate and has the ability to produce a new engine every 16 seconds. Honda in Thailand has produced 45 million motorcycles to date, of which 39 million or 93% are exported abroad.

Thai Honda aims to increase the products sold within Thailand this year (from 7% to 10%). And also wants to expand its network of retailers nationwide from its current 200 locations.
