The Governor of the State Railways of Thailand (SRT), Nirut Maneephan, has announced that travelers will be able to test ride the Red line for free for three months from August 2, 2021.

The 26 km route between Bang Sue and Rangsit and the 15 km route between Bang Suee and Taling Chan can carry up to 550 people per trip. This number will be halved for the time being in order to guarantee social distancing.

Government spokesman Traisulee Traisoranakul said commercial services are expected to begin in November, with a fare of between 12 and 42 baht. The board of SRT has decided to postpone a decision on the final rates for Red Line.

Look at that… Thailand is still a developing country for many Belgians,
if you hear that at the bar…
But apparently Thailand can do something Belgium doesn't even think about.
Brussels is congested with traffic, for years now.
Why not use Skytrains from Leuven, Boom, Aalst, Wavre, (all approx. 20 km) to Brussels.
    In the median.
No, we don't have that much organizational talent and entrepreneurship.
And it's good for the environment too.
Must be the same for the Netherlands, surely?
