Next year, land and real estate taxes will be levied in Thailand. A special arrangement will come into force for golf courses, zoos and airports: they will receive a discount on the OZB.

This has been announced by the Ministry of Finance. The golf courses themselves have asked for special treatment because they believe that golf is a sport that Thailand is known for and attracts many tourists. A committee that is considering the introduction of the OZB believes that the jobs themselves can be exempted from the tax. But the golf clubhouses should be hit normally. Zoos that cover a large area should also be eligible for a tax reduction because they are recreational facilities.

The area around airports that are not accessible for security reasons can be exempted because they do not serve a commercial purpose. Also marshalling yards should get discounts.

Would think that such a golf club could pay quite a bit of tax, really do not see this as a public interest.
After all, it is not a sport for Jan with the cap, more for the jet set and they can afford a bit more.
Wonder who owns it, at least they've lobbied well if this continues.

      Dear Tooske,

I would like to point out that for many years the golf courses, here in Thailand but also in Spain, can only just keep their heads above water.
During the week there are not as many people as you think and the costs just keep going.
I'm very flattered that you think I belong to the jet set. For which I thank you.

Mvg Fred and Denny, two enthusiastic golfers.
