Thailand will reserve 150.000 doses of the 1,5 million Pfizer vaccines donated by the US for foreign residents.

The CCSA has approved the allocation for this. As of August 1, 2021, the State Department has launched a new online platform for foreign residents of Thailand to sign up for Pfizer's FIRST dose of COVID-19 vaccination.

The platform “expatvac.consular.go.th” will be opened for registration to foreign residents of all ages across the country. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in coordination with the Ministry of Health, will arrange vaccination for those registered in accordance with priority criteria similar to those of Thai nationals.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand reiterates its gratitude to the Government of the United States of America for the donation of the COVID-19 vaccine to Thailand.

They therefore expect only 75 foreigners to register.

    • RonnyLatYa says up

By the way, the vaccines have already arrived on July 29.

    • Josh Breesch says up

Apparently there is vaccine for 1 people in 6 "dose".

      • RonnyLatYa says up

You mean 6 doses for 6 people in one vial.

I had already registered yesterday and was able to immediately book an appointment at the Medpark hospital. in Bangkok. It was already full until the 10th. I stay in Chonburi but it was not a problem. I did have an extra call from Thai family and they were also told that you could just travel with the confirmation message and appointment for the 10th. This proof must be shown during any police check. I received this via email:

      Med Park Hospital Bangkok.

Your free government allocated vaccine booking has been confirmed. This booking is only valid if, at the time of your booking, you have not previously received any COVID-19 vaccine. This booking is also not transferrable. Please show up with your passport at the time of your booking. **Even though this is a confirmation email, if the hospital finds that any information provided is incorrect or does not match the information on your passport, MedPark Hospital reserves the right to refuse your vaccination. Registration is also not transferrable. If you are under 12 weeks pregnant, you are not yet able to be vaccinated. Please let us know by replying to this email and we will assist you in planning a different vaccination date.

      1. Please fill out this medical screening questionnaire on the day of your vaccination: https://medpark.hospital/MedicalScreeningForm. Once you reach the screening result screen, please take a photo or screen capture, and present it to our medical screening staff at the door.
      2. Please plan to arrive at MedPark within your appointed time slot. Please do not arrive late or more than 10 minutes before the appointed time. This is critical to the smooth vaccination process as the hospital is administering vaccines to a large number of people all throughout the day.
      3. In case you need transportation services during curfew hours, taxi drivers from Howa International have been vaccinated and are able to drive you round trip to and from the hospital during curfew hours. You can contact Howa International through their Line Official Account at: https://lin.ee/fDWlsrx
      4. If you are stopped on the way to or from your vaccination appointment during curfew hours, please show your confirmation email to the police officer and scroll down to Thai translation of the confirmation message.
      1. For those who are driving to the hospital, MedPark has arranged for free 3-hour parking at the adjacent The PARQ located only 30 meters from the hospital. From The PARQ, please exit from G level by the Starbucks or KFC exit and proceed to the hospital via a short walk. Kindly note, parking at The PARQ will be closed at 20.00 hrs. Therefore, please park at thehospital if your appointment is scheduled from 17.00 hrs onwards.
      2. Please enter the Covid-19 Vaccination Entrance, an entrance directly facing The PARQ, you will be asked to present your original copy of current passport, along with your confirmation email at this point. You will be given a queue and a plastic sleeve which will be used twice during the vaccination process to prevent bacteria and cross contamination between patients, while we take your blood pressure before and after the vaccine shot.
      3. Proceed to the Registration Desk. Please keep your passport out for this as we take you through pre-vaccination steps, eg, taking blood pressure, signing Vaccination Consent Form, etc.
      4. The vaccine will be given after the preliminary steps have been completed. You will be asked to remain under observation for 30 minutes.

**For maximum safety, mask-wearing at all times is mandatory, no foods or drinks are allowed in and around the vaccination area. Please also observe social distancing.**

Glad it will be Pfizer/Biontech. A great success in the USA: 99% of the people who still die of covid there are unvaccinated.

By the way, I couldn't upload my passport + visa when registering on the above site (and I'm fairly digitally skilled - I didn't see a button with 'upload'). I got the first in the appropriate box, but when I wanted to put the 2nd there, the first disappeared. When placing the cursor on a +, the message 'not yet uploaded' appeared.

In the end I clicked on 'submit'... and was informed that my registration was successful + I received an e-mail with confirmation. Just to be on the safe side, I replied to that email with both documents attached.

    • Eric Donkaew says up

@Steven: I got the 2st in the box in question, but when I tried to put the XNUMXnd there, the XNUMXst disappeared.
      -----------------
I had the same. I have placed the photos (passport, visa and renewal stamp) in a text document and saved (or exported) them as jpg. So a document with three pictures. Perhaps a tip for others who run into this.
Signing up went fine for me. I'm curious.

    • Albert says up

Click on 'BROWSE', find both documents and click on them (hold down the Ctrl key) and they will both appear on the screen.

A problem is the family name with a space eg 'Van Der Bla' is not valid!

      • Paul Cassiers says up

        Albert,

Click on “BROWSE”, ok but look up which documents where and click while holding down the Cntrl key. It is indeed the passport photo of your passport and the retirement stamp, isn't it?

Paul, sorry but I'm not "bleu" when it comes to PC.....

    • John says up

Merge all three with the control key and place them in the box as a whole… then it will work…

    • Josh Breesch says up

This also works with holding down the Ctrl key when selecting multiple pics

  6. Rob says up

Same Same…Done yesterday, but also got confirmation from the Wall OF CM that I am expected at McorMick hospital on Wednesday August 4th for vaccination. Sinovac and an AstraZeneca injection within 3 weeks. What is wisdom to choose? Combination with Sinovac/AstraZeneca next Wednesday or wait to see if those Pfizer vaccines also come to Chiang Mai and if there are enough for those who have registered with this new option (expatvac.consular.go.th ). Good luck with all considerations and be patient… Rob

    • Patrick says up

If AZ is not valid upon return to the Netherlands, I would not go for it.

I also signed up for a vaccine but only have it injected into my arm if it's Pfizer or Moderna.

    • Paul. Jomtien says up

Had a first shot with AstraZeneca in Pattaya on Saturday. It was also announced there that the first jab would be with Sinovac and the 2nd with AstraZeneca. It eventually turned out that all people over 60 can be injected twice with AstraZeneca if desired. May be the same in other cities.

  7. Hans says up

Who guarantees that it concerns Pfizer and not the liquidation of Sinovac. In an article from Bkk-post they report that nothing is mentioned about when the vaccination will take place and which vaccine it will be.

    • Victor says up

Exactly! A boatload of information is being delivered and no one gives a reliable source to confirm that it is Pfizer. Sinovac or other Chinese vaccines are not an option for me.

I have now registered for Pfizer.
Wasn't a problem. 5 minutes of work and now you have it
also a confirmation via my email.
    I wish everyone good luck!

    • Victor says up

Have you received confirmation that it concerns Pfizer and not another vaccine such as perhaps Sinovac?

    • Albert says up

“I have now registered for Pfizer.”

Is there no vaccine selection on the form?

To select date of birth, click on year 2021, scroll to year of birth.
Click on the birth month and then the day.

  11. janbeute says up

I also successfully registered yesterday, at least I think so.
I didn't see anything here about which vaccine I could get.
I fear that most of the US-given Pfizer vaccine has already found its place in the arms of their well-known elite.

  12. Jan si thep says up

After first encountering the known problem on Sunday (after entering an email and next error message) received an email on Monday.
    Complete registration with the link.
Last week here (amphur si thep) was 1st vaccination days. Only there was no vaccine for the foreigner yet. Already registered through the village doctor in early July.
Now Phetchabun has become dark red zone.
I wonder if there will be more vaccines to meet the 70% target for dark red this month.
I'll have a look at the letter the ambassador refers to may help.

    Good news!
I received the message below from the MedPark Hospital in Bangkok on Sunday.
I registered directly via the link in the message and received confirmation of the appointment in no time.
If you use the link in the message, after opening the website, set it to EN (english) immediately after opening the website, then you can easily fill in the form on the website.
There are a few details to fill in and you need to upload a copy of the photo page of your passport and you can choose the vaccination you want.
You can also choose a date and a time, it always seems to start at 17:00 PM.

    Dear N……,

We hope this message finds you well, and that you and your loved ones are staying safe. We have some great news to share for our expats and non-Thai communities who have not yet been vaccinated. You can now register for Covid-19 vaccine at MedPark Hospital through this link: https://medpark.hospital/CovidExpatsVaccine

In order to be eligible, you need to meet both of the following criteria:
    1. This must be your first Covid-19 vaccine shot.
    2. You must be (any of the following): 60 years old or above / has underlying disease(s) / over 12 weeks pregnant.

You can also now choose between AstraZeneca, Sinovac, and Pfizer BioNTech. Please note that Pfizer BioNTech will only be available from Aug 10th, 2021. The vaccine is government allocated, and is free of charge.

We hope this brings good news to you. Please register as soon as you can, because our time slots fill up very quickly. Feel free to share the link with your fellow expat / non-Thai friends.

    Cheers!
    Med Park Team

I've been waiting 40 hours for a text message from the registration.

  15. Paul says up

My registration was also successful, thanks to the tips written above.
But how can you be sure that it is also Pfizer that you are injecting?
    Can you see the bottle?
    Anyone experience this?

    • Bart says up

      I also registered.

Indeed, there is no mention of what type of vaccine you will receive. I'm afraid we'll just be invited along with the average Thai and we'll get the same shot as everyone else.

The government will keep the Pfizer vaccines for itself.

  16. Rex says up

I successfully registered yesterday within 5 minutes, encountered no problems at all.

  17. Pim says up

Although I absolutely do not want to participate in the drink talk discussion about Covid etc. I do want to report that I received my first sinovac shot this morning.

Some time ago my wife registered me in the University hospital here on site (soon the facilities will be expanded from Polyclinic to day and night admissions) and this morning 600 people were vaccinated, I think I was the only Farang.

Excellently organized, everything went very quietly and calmly, only waiting half an hour after the actual injection is a bit too much for me, but everything was well arranged.

Everything was registered in computers, a note was taken to the next department where the shots were handed out and went home with an appointment for the second shot.

  18. RonnyLatYa says up

According to this info on ASEAN NOW (formerly ThaiVisa), a total of 2 expats would be registered on Monday, August 18.00 at 28.788:XNUMX PM. State Department spokesperson Tanee Sangrat announced this on Twitter.

Of those, 22.653 were expats under the age of 60, while 6.135 people over the age of 60 also registered.
Another 1.916 people with underlying health conditions, along with 114 pregnant women, also registered.

In his tweet, Mr Tanaee said the vaccination dates will likely be after August 10 or 11.

Earlier, Thailand's Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) said 150.000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine donated by the US government would be allocated to foreigners in Thailand.
And with less than 30.000 people already registered to get the vaccine, there should be
    sufficient vaccines are available.

That seems to be going in the right direction this time and there should also be enough vaccines at the moment to meet the demand. The registrations continue of course
We'll see what the future brings.

    https://aseannow.com/topic/1226288-29000-expats-in-thailand-register-for-vaccine-using-expatvac-website/

  19. RonnyLatYa says up

I think that those 1.916 people with underlying health problems and the 114 pregnant women have also been included in the previous figures, because otherwise it would not be correct, of course.

    • Ger Korat says up

Say 3/4 are younger than 60 who have registered, in addition some pregnant women (see them regularly from Myanmar); from this I conclude that the majority consists of expats from the surrounding countries who have registered on the site. For the retirees who come to think that the vaccines would only be for them, well that is not told anywhere. The workers from other countries (Japan, Western countries) you may assume that the employers take good care of them and have already arranged a vaccine elsewhere.

      • RonnyLatYa says up

Whether or not pregnant from neighboring countries are also foreigners of course.
But they would also be intended for the older foreigners if I read this

“The committee administering COVID-19 vaccinations in Thailand has resolved to distribute the first donation from the US among three target groups.
        – Firstly, the jabs are to be administered as booster doses for 700,000 frontline medical workers. – — Another 645,000 doses will be provided to the elderly, sufferers of seven chronic illnesses and women over 12 weeks pregnant.
        – A third targeted group has been earmarked to receive 150,000 doses and comprises elderly foreigners and chronically ill residents of the Kingdom, as well as those needing clearance for international travel such as diplomats and students.”

Look at it positively. There are still 2.5 million to come 😉
