The Ubolratana reservoir is (technically) dry because it only contains 1 percent water of its capacity. Out of necessity, use must be made of the bottom water that serves to guarantee the stability of the dam.

According to director Royol Jitdon of the Hydro and Agro Informatics Institute, the use of soil water is necessary. Twenty million cubic meters have already been used and until July (start of the rainy season) 180 million cubic meters of water will be used.

You can see the situation at the other checkers in the illustration above. The water supply of a number of reservoirs has been replenished by 51,5 million cubic meters thanks to the artificial generation of rain.

Flights have been launched in 41 provinces since mid-February, artificially creating rain in 76,9 percent of areas, a government spokesman said on Saturday. The large reservoirs are expected to hold 1,81 billion cubic meters of water at the beginning of the rainy season, in mid-May-June.

  1. Jos says up

I feel very sorry for many Thais, while so many liters of water are being wasted in Pattaya. Especially 18-19 it is about millions, millions. That the bigwigs allow that? And soon they will say that we can only take 1 shower a day in Pattaya?
