On Sunday, a train collided with a bus in Chaisi (Nakhon Pathom) crossing a railway. Three people were killed and 27 injured, five of whom are still in critical condition. The driver was killed in the collision, an autopsy must determine whether he has used alcohol or drugs.

The bus was full of employees of a petrochemical company from Nakhon Chaisi and was on its way to Koh Samet for a three-day company outing. At a railway crossing, which is notorious for many accidents, the Bangkok-Nam Tok (Kanchanaburi) train hit the left front of the bus, which ended up on its side next to the track.

The strange thing is that the level crossing is in open terrain and is clearly visible all around. The train driver would also have honked a few times, but the bus driver could not have heard that because the music was quite loud in the bus. Both the bus and the train slowed down, but the collision was inevitable.

The level crossing has recently been fitted with barriers, which did not work yet because they had just been installed, said the State Secretary for Transport, who visited the site of the accident with the Governor of Railways yesterday.

I saw a video of the accident. The bus stopped at the transition it seems, a bus was going in front of it, maybe he thought I'll make it or didn't even look left to see if a train was coming. It was quite a blow.

I have also seen the video there you can also see that a white car slips in front of it life-threatening.
Bus had to make a big turn and really Thais don't pay attention just like here, they might think.

    Sadly but true.
This is now becoming daily fare in Thailand.
See it daily on the news via Thai TV stations.
And experience it yourself along the way.
Last week you could see it in the news and on Facebook, with a complete truck combination flying through the air, just like in a movie.
Or a frustrated rich kid who, after smashing a barrier somewhere in his Mercedes S class, caused real havoc on a highway at high speed.
Last week in our village another one died on his moped.
My wife is visiting the family again a few days before the cremation.
And even today I almost hit the mark on my way from my house to the Kad Farang in HangDong on the bike, thanks to my defensive driving and regular looking in the mirror.
Have everything on my helmet camera.
Kamakazi drivers , and no one takes action .
You do not see the police and the big boss of this current government is not doing anything to tackle this problem.
I think we will definitely be number one in the world this year .
    Congratulations Thailand,
You finally have a gold medal.

    Jan Beute.

I also saw it on TV and it makes you think. How is it possible that the driver of this bus did not see the train coming??? He also did not survive and there is no evidence that this was an IS fanatic.
I sometimes think of situations that we are all familiar with, where we quickly drive onto a road, while traffic is approaching and then you realize afterwards that it was more of an action with the hope of blessing. Peace can save you, especially in Thailand with the hectic traffic. Another psychological phenomenon could also be at play, namely one that can be observed in rabbits or hares and can also be found in people, who, for example, remain stationary or sit obstinately in a beam of light and are therefore in danger of being shot. When action is needed, such as with the bus, speeding up for the sake of it, or of course never driving onto the level crossing as the train approaches, you see that the response is destructive and essential actions are neglected. During my previous work in the Netherlands, I had the opportunity to experience about 7 similar situations and to discuss the bad news with the relatives. After so many years it is still on my mind, but it is much worse for those involved with the loss of loved ones.
When and where will it end for us. Fate can always strike, especially with those suicide bombers that cause suffering all over the world. We'll be reading more about this I'm afraid.

    Why did this go wrong!
So there is a completely finished security installation with red flashing lights.
Maybe even with barriers, this is not visible on the video.
But this is an installation that has not yet been connected to the rail network.
So the bus driver arrives, but is still hindered by a white car that does not allow the bus any space. Then the bus slowly drives on because it is a Thai transition with enormous height differences between the asphalt of the road and that between the railway, you can see the white car dancing over it.
Although the road is better on his side. The bus driver drives very slowly here, because it is otherwise not pleasant at the top of a double-decker. Certainly not if he has to drive diagonally across the track. Then the driver looks in his right mirror to see if the white car is gone. And will drive slowly again because the road is very bad. You can see the tandem axle tilting about ten degrees over the bumps. And the railroad signal still shows nothing. After a few meters he probably looks to the left again and sees the train. He brakes completely out of fright, this can be seen by his brake lights. It is then too late to give full throttle.
    Who's to blame here.
    Yes, the government decides.
They have built a complete signaling system. And while it didn't work yet, and wasn't even connected to the rail network, they left it that way. (Des Thais)
In the Netherlands they then put a jute bag over the installation, so that every driver understands that it does not work.
Again NOT the driver but the government is fully responsible for this accident.
And has to pay for everything. This is murder.
