The cowardly attack on a disabled bread delivery boy in Bangkok is not a premeditated murder, according to the Thai police. This is remarkable because security camera footage shows that the seven suspects (six men and a young woman) stormed into the bakery shop in Lat Phrao armed with knives on May 1.

According to acting police commander Sanit of the Bangkok police, it was not the intention to kill the man, the young people wanted to protect themselves with the weapons. But if further investigation shows that there was premeditation, the police will aggravate the charge.

The lawyer representing the next of kin handed over a letter to Commissioner Chakthip of the Thai police yesterday asking for a fair trial and justice for the family. Relatives supported him in front of the headquarters with a protest.

The difference between murder (premeditated) and manslaughter is significant when it comes to punishment. First-degree murder is an offense punishable by death in Thailand. For manslaughter, a judge can impose a prison sentence of 15 years to life. According to Sanit, however, the police cannot just charge premeditated murder, there must be evidence for that.

On social media, Thai citizens are asking for a heavier demand than manslaughter. Many Thai doubt a fair trial because the father of four of the suspects is a police officer.

    Many Thai are 100% right:
Many Thai doubt a fair trial because the father of four of the suspects is a police officer!
And the “dear” young people wanted to protect themselves with weapons…! To a disabled person?
Rarely have I read such an excuse.
Will I wonder what kind of demand will be forthcoming…….. acquittal because they had been drinking again as usual? Maybe that will come later as an invented story.

We're not suddenly going to think that the Thai police force is being honest in this case, are we? There are children of police officers involved in this cowardly act, so it will soon be a different story for them. Anyone who has been in Thailand for a long time knows that this force is out for its own benefit and is involved in many things in Thailand that cannot really tolerate the light of day. They will rarely let each other fall unless there is no way to escape.

If you let all this go through your mind, you will definitely get a dirty, dirty, greasy taste in your mouth. And you lose a whole lot of sympathy for the country that you had such a beautiful feeling for.
But along and along these feelings will give way to ………………

Four of them are sons of police officers. The woman shouted loudly, in Thai of course, "I'll kill you". TIT
