The number of infections confirmed by the Thai government increased by 38 to 2.258 on Tuesday and the number of deaths by 1 to 27. Another 31 people have recovered from the corona virus.

The number of new infections shows a downward trend with 51 on Monday and 102 on Sunday, but due to the low level of testing, it is too early to cheer.

Dr. Taweesin Visanuyothin, spokesperson for the Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration, said the latest death was a 54-year-old man, with no reported chronic illnesses, who had been partying in Bangkok's Thong Lor area. The man died of complications from pneumonia.

Taweesin is happy with the lower number of new confirmed cases, which he says is a result of the curfew.
