At least 20 people have been killed in northern Thailand after a bus plunged into a ravine tonight. 16 were also injured.

The bus was returning from a Krathin ceremony in Chiang Rai and on its way to Chiang Mai when the brakes failed and the bus plunged into a ravine near Than Thong waterfall on Phayao-Wang Nua road in Lampang's Wang Nua district at about 18.30:30 p.m. o'clock. Rescue workers found the bus that had plunged XNUMX meters.

Fatal road accidents are commonplace in Thailand. At least 19 people were killed in a truck accident in the northeast of the country in early October and at least 19 people were killed when a bus collided with a truck and caught fire in July.

Jesus how bad it has hit the mark lately, well what else do you have to comment on here, the pictures say enough.

I have driven this road from Chiang Kham via Phayao to Chiang Mai many times and visited that waterfall. It's a treacherous winding and unclear mountain road where I've seen many accidents. People drive down there like crazy. There are 'dangerous bend' warning signs everywhere. And yet this, very sad.
