The NOS Journaal opened its news this afternoon with images of the riots in Bangkok. It shows how demonstrators storm a police station and destroy doors.

The Thai government calls on the population in Bangkok to stay indoors tonight (22 to 5 a.m.) for their own safety.

It is unclear where Prime Minister Yingluck is currently. On Twitter people wonder why she does not show up, there were earlier rumors that she was out of the country, but that turned out to be incorrect.

It is wise not to interfere at all, because that is certainly not appreciated. Saw foreigners walking around in Bangkok at a gathering in a red and yellow shirt. This is asking for trouble! Stay out of everything, because we are only guests and have limited rights.
