In this video you can see a soldier of the Thai explosive ordnance disposal service at work, trying to defuse a car bomb. Much to his dismay, a bomb goes off the moment he opens the front door.

Thanks to his protective suit, the man managed to survive. Police later found more explosives in the car.

The incident took place in the Deep South of Thailand in Narathiwat province. The bomb was probably planted by militant Muslims. In the run-up to tomorrow's Thai elections, Muslims in the south of the country have carried out several attacks.

How hot that man must be in that suit. Still, I wonder how the bomb experts from Holland would handle such a thing, would they just open the door?

When there were no robots yet, because before they did, they did indeed do it exactly the same way and that was not so long ago.

yes indeed, that dear gentleman was probably very hot, but I think you'd rather have your guts blown out of your body.

problem in southern thailand, can only be solved in 2 ways, in my opinion. the first is to separate, and put a great wall between them as in Israel, and whoever climbs over it, you must immediately riddle him. the second way is to disable all Muslims, sounds harsh, but in the Netherlands things are also going from bad to worse.

      regards

For years there has been a clip for this situation that you attach to the door handle and open the door with a rope at 25 or more meters. The detonation of the bomb works on the switch that turns on the interior lights. But yes, in Thailand they are behind with everything.

would like an education with robot please

Neither the bomber nor the clearer show much professionalism.
If the bomber had done his best, the entire load would have gone off, and the man who has to defuse the bomb should know that you should never, ever open a door. The igniter is, as Wim also said, connected to the interior lighting in 99 out of 100 cases. But those suits do work as we see…. the man just walks away. Probably with 'ringing' ears.

Ignition connected to interior lighting… hmmmm…. in 99 cases out of a hundred?… possible,…but, how is that possible if the door on the other side is already open???
As usual, the best helmsmen are once again ashore here.

Guys, think before you say something.

Just as if a bomb never went off in the Netherlands during disassembly!

Please have a little more respect for people who risk their lives to protect people like you and me.

If you look closely, on this video but also on photos I've seen in various newspapers, the right door is already open, so the transfer to the interior lighting does not work in this case, more likely than some kind of "pull mechanism". ”
The man probably survived the explosion because the other door was already open, so the pressure from the explosion didn't come out at 1 point.

Jakko's solution is somewhat drastic, all of southern Thailand is predominantly Muslim (up to Phuket), but Thailand took the 3 southern provinces in question years ago from Malaysia and the extremist Muslims want complete autonomy.
Mostly Muslims live in the south, my wife is one of them and they want nothing to do with this hassle, there are almost no teachers, doctors, nurses, etc. to go to those areas anymore.
There are large groups of extremist Muslims walking around in southern Thailand to win as many souls as possible, very irritating people, but in general, these kinds of excesses do not come from Thais themselves
It is an incredibly complicated story that is terribly bothering the Thai government. Even the King has personally interfered with it, but despite the respect he has in these provinces, he has not come to a solution, partly because the attackers are not in Thailand at all, once they have done their shit they will be safe in Malaysia again.
