- Eric Kuypers: What's difficult about it? A tourist comes for a holiday and in most countries it is only short, max 30 days. People from the west
- Rob: Hello Frans, From May 10 you can pre-order it from the publisher. My email address is [email protected]
- Rob: The publisher is still working on the design and I don't know the sales price yet. It will be available for purchase from May 24. I will return in October
- Frank B.: Even though we plan to settle in Thailand and I have been following F70 since the early 1s, I hope this does not happen.
- Robert: Attract tourists? Then they could simplify the visa system a bit...
- Robert: I was in Thailand (near Ayutthaya) in January and March. I've traveled around that area a bit and am further north
- Ton Prangku: Bert, a university in Thailand has a different level than what we are used to here in Europe. We would call it secondary here
- Bert: Thanks for the nice tip! I also like to play games myself, but I don't know this one yet, I'll definitely take a look and see what it is
- Bert: Well, as far as I'm concerned, Bangkok or an expensive private one is not necessary, nor would it be practical since it is a good 500km away from here
- French: PS Rob, your email address is not in your article so I cannot email you my order. I don't see it on the book scout website
- French: Good storyteller! I'm going to order.
- Rene Mulder: Hi Rob. Seems like a nice book to me. But how much does the book cost and where do you send the book from because I live in Pattaya.
- Gerd H: Spend this money for such a ridiculous project on fighting poverty for people who really need it!

Home » News from Thailand » American (44) beats to death Australian (43) who assaulted Thai woman
Pattaya police have arrested a 44-year-old American who fatally injured an Australian at the Ruby Club in Soi 6 on Friday night during an argument.
The American tourist saw the 43-year-old Australian arguing with a Thai woman. He grabbed her by the throat and lifted her off the ground until her face turned blue, police said. The American intervened and gave the Aussie a few good blows. Even after the Australian was on the ground, the American kicked him several times in the face.
The Australian was taken to Pattaya Memorial Hospital where it was found that he had suffered severe brain injuries and was pronounced dead.
The American did not flee after his act. He will have to take into account a prison sentence of 3 to 15 years.

A corrective tap would have been in order.
Now he can rot in jail.
A corrective slap for someone trying to kill his wife?? She could have broken her neck. Think that many a man gets a red haze in front of his eyes when he sees something like this happen.
Rotting in jail?? He can certainly be punished for his actions, but bear in mind that the abuse was most likely not a one-off. Many times have often preceded this.
It's okay to knock someone down for something like that.
But don't crush his skull like the eyewitness report says.
Sorry it says 'a woman' not 'his wife' is a bit different, but yes a good blow (in retrospect!) would have been better.
And as usual, we will probably never know what the actual sentence imposed, if the man is convicted at all, will be, since most media leave it at a message that someone may be hanging over someone's head, and then never go back to it .
Yes, and the latest news about that person is that he has already committed murder before,
see Thaivisa: American who killed Australian tourist in Pattaya bar fight has murdered before.
They are always the same….
According to the various reports, the American would also have had a short fuse. By the way, it's the second time he's killed someone. He had already been convicted of these offenses in the USA. Then he shot someone to the afterlife…..
Even three corrective taps would have been acceptable, now he is probably rightly being severely punished.
The end result is in no way justifiable, but:
How many people would intervene themselves?
And, and that speaks for him, he has not run away and accepts the consequences of his act.
What he did in America is irrelevant and as long as no one knows the details about it, referring to that event is mood-raising.
At the time of the first manslaughter in 1993, the perpetrator was barely 18 years old. Therefore, in my opinion, this is not a solid reason to judge/convict him.
The time and location of the event are, again in my opinion, much more significant.
I suspect neither of them will really be missed in the civilized world.
It reads that neither of them shied away from violence. The cowardly act of those Australians who mistreat this woman has, of course, been the reason for the American's action. It is commendable that this American is doing this and there are many people who look the other way and let this happen. The level of force used was disproportionate and led to the death of that Australian. For this, the perpetrator deserves punishment in accordance with Thai law. Apparently he accepts this.
Violence often provokes violence, especially with drink and in certain occasions as described here. Discipline is often hard to find in a large group of people and then this can arise. A sad outcome from which lessons can be learned.
This is what you can read about what happened according to an eyewitness on Pattaya Addicts
It was around 6.30pm and I was sitting in Ruby when it happened, but it was in my back so I didn't know how it started.
The guy who got beaten was a big rocker type guy who was shitfaced and already fell from the bar stool a couple of minutes before. The guy who beat him was in a group of 4-5 big bully guys probably from US (not sure about that though). One of them puked over the table a couple minutes before. They were all obviously very drunk and there was an aggressive vibe coming from them (that's what at least I felt).
Suddenly a very big muscle guy out of the group smashed the other one through the bar, gave him a couple of real bad fist hits in the face. Meanwhile barstools flying everywhere and I'm pretty sure some other customers and maybe even girls where hit. The guy was totally out of control. When the other was on the ground, he smashed his foot from above in the guys face at least 10-15 times with full force. That whole incident lasted probably 20 seconds.
I wouldn't be shocked if the guy where killed. He was conscious, but his face looked horrible. He will spend months in hospital and will probably never recover fully. The bully's buddies where making pics of the poor guy and were very proud of her friend. They didn't make an attempt to leave the bar. We left the scene before the ambulance arrived. I really hope the police will let him rot in jail. That was attempted murder.
No matter what the guy has said or done, there is no reason to try to kill him. Shitfaced as he was, one punch would have been enough and he would have been on the floor, had a black eye and that's it. But the other guy tried to kill him and probably ruined his life forever.
And he put other customers and girls in risk to get involved accidentally. No sympathy for this lowlife, hope he rock in hell.
Kind of ruined my night at least for a couple of hours, it was that bad.
Ruby is my favorite bar on the Six, but I think the management might have been able to avoid it by asking the bullygroup or the big guy earlier. As I said before, there was an aggressive vibe coming from them.
Would be interested if the police got involved or if he'll get away with it.
