36 percent of Thai men come too quickly

More than a third of Thai men suffer from ejaculatio praecox. This creates tension in marriages. The number of men suffering from it is higher than the number of men with erectile dysfunction.

If this is secret language for you. In plain English: one third of Thai men come too quickly and that is more than those who have trouble getting an erection (a so-called hard-on).

This has emerged from a study among men aged between 20 and 60, but by whom and how the research was carried out and how many men were questioned or examined, the article does not state. Also not whether it was a random sample and what the non-response amounted to. All rather sloppy. However, urologist Sombun Lueang of the Bangkok hospital is quoted, who made these figures known. On what occasion, we must also guess.

90 percent of men with PE (premature ejaculation) say they have suffered from it since their first sexual contact. They ejaculate within a minute. Many men say they are dissatisfied with their sex life. They worry, which in turn affects their relationship with girlfriend or wife. The study also shows that 38 percent of women whose husband or boyfriend suffers from PE are dissatisfied with their sex life.

Sombun notes that demand for PE treatment is on the rise, "possibly because women demand sexual gratification." But those requesting help remain in the minority: only 34 percent do something about it; most are too shy to see a doctor.

PE can be treated, but the drug is only available through a doctor. Sombun advises fast dischargers to discuss their problem with an expert because treatment improves their relationship. About 60 percent of the respondents are willing to see a doctor if they are encouraged to do so by their partner.
