News from Thailand – Friday, February 27, 2015

The Nation opens today with the report that the CDC rejects a proposal to give the prime minister additional powers in the event of a "state of emergency." The drafters of the new constitution see no point in giving a prime minister the same powers that the head of the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) now has: http://goo.gl/u3UJQY

Bangkok Post opens with the message that the CDC decided yesterday that in the event of a political crisis, an outsider can also be elected as Prime Minister of Thailand and does not necessarily have to be someone from parliament. The German seat distribution system was also adopted by parliament. That would be better for the somewhat smaller parties: http://goo.gl/ZM2nfG

  1. Alex says up

If the Red Cross dropped some of its blood donor conditions, there would be a lot more blood donors, and therefore more blood.
They do not accept donors over the age of 60, no gays, etc.
I am over 60, gay, very healthy, do not take any medication and have a blood group that is in great need. But even if I wanted to, I can't donate, not even in case of energy!
