The Dutch government has decided to cancel the European entry ban for the Netherlands as of September 17, 2022. This means that Thais, vaccinated or not, can travel to the Netherlands without restrictions (provided they have a valid Schengen visa).

This is because the government no longer considers the EU entry ban for the Netherlands to be proportionate given the epidemiological situation in our country. In addition, the European Commission plans to publish a proposal to revise the entry rules in autumn 2022.

This means that from September 17, 2022, all travelers from countries outside the European Union or the Schengen zone can re-enter the Netherlands without entry restrictions due to COVID-19 or other COVID-19 requirements.

Now for the ridiculously long waiting times, and thus violation of the rules, for submitting a visa application. It still takes 35-55 days instead of a maximum of 2 weeks before you can turn to VFS.

And vice versa, from October 1 on arrival in Thailand we no longer need to have a vaccination certificate or negative test result.
