Today STI AIDS Netherlands and Aidsfonds introduce Advice.chat. The first online STI test guide that gives you anonymous and reliable advice about STI tests 24/7. With this new application you can quickly and easily discover whether you are at risk for an STI and how best to have it tested. Advice.chat also refers, in addition to GGD and GP, to reliable STI self-test providers.
The solution for anyone who experiences barriers to getting tested for STIs such as chlamydia and HIV, for example due to shame, costs or fear of the results. This way you have direct access to tailor-made advice, no one is watching when you answer questions about your sex life and you can prevent yourself from developing complaints
About 25.000 people live with HIV in the Netherlands. More than 10% of them are not aware of their own HIV status because they have not been tested for it. People also regularly walk too long with other STIs. For example, women can experience complaints such as chronic abdominal pain, infertility and premature birth due to chlamydia or gonorrhea. Men can get an epididymis infection or temporary reduced fertility.
Advice.chat can be reached with a smartphone, tablet and desktop. The conversation is automated, but you can ask additional questions yourself.
