There is a worldwide shortage of condoms, warns manufacturer Karex Bhd in Malaysia. It is the largest condom producer in the world, making one-fifth of all condoms.

The factory has been closed for ten days due to the lockdown in Malaysia. That means that 100 million fewer condoms have already been produced.

“We are going to see condom shortages everywhere, and that could become dangerous,” said Karex CEO Goh Miah Kiat. “My concern is that the shortage will affect many humanitarian programs in Africa. And not just two weeks or a month, but that shortage can last for months.”

The company has asked the government to make an exception for them. The country is allowing some producers of essential goods to work at half capacity.

Malaysia is the worst affected country in Southeast Asia with 2.161 infections and 26 deaths. The lockdown will last until April 14. The other countries where condoms are produced are China, India and Thailand.

but here's a happy note in this difficult time.
I think there will certainly be enough left in Europe because everyone is just sitting at their mother's house so there is no need to pee outside the door and there will also be enough in Thailand because there are so few tourists
