Typhoon Goni, which ravaged the Philippines with rain and flooding, is also expected to cause problems in northern Thailand.

Later this week, the North can prepare for strong winds and lots of rain. Currently, Goni is moving from the Philippines to the South China Sea, with maximum sustained winds of about 65 miles per hour.

From Thursday to Saturday, parts of Thailand should expect more rain with strong winds. Residents should be alert to possible flash floods and mudslides from the mountains.

Goni was the strongest typhoon of the year that left a trail of destruction in the Philippines, but the typhoon has since weakened to a tropical storm and is heading towards Vietnam.
