The Meteorological Department is warning residents of 18 provinces in the north, northeast, east and south of now-weakened Tropical Storm Bebinca. The low pressure area will bring heavy rainfall and isolated heavy downpours through Sunday.
In the 18 provinces, there is a warning of flooding and rivers that overflow their banks. Nan has been particularly hard hit, with more than 1.000 households in seven districts of the northern province affected by flooding.
On Sunday, meteorologists expect heavy rainfall in four provinces in the north (Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Sukhothai and Tak); two in the east (Chanthaburi and Trat); and six in the south (Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Ranong, Phangnga, Phuket and Krabi).
The strong southwest monsoon causes high waves in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand. All ships must exercise caution and small boats must remain ashore until Monday. Residents along the coast were told to watch out for the risk of a storm surge.

The heavy rains have caused the 118, the road from Chiang Rai to Chiang Mai, to be closed. Landslides and the collapse of a stretch of road mean that you have to make a detour between these cities.
