Despite the increase in the number of Covid-19 infections, the government will be flexible in taking new restrictive measures and will not impose a national lockdown.

For example, eating in restaurants remains allowed, but the companies must strictly comply with the guidelines. Shopping centers will remain open and use normal opening hours. Interprovincial travel from high-risk provinces remains permitted. The proposals will be submitted to Prime Minister Prayut for approval on Monday.

CCSA spokesman Taweesilp says: “We have watered down our previous plan. We do not want to institute a national lockdown because of the negative consequences for businesses and the economy. The remedy would then be worse than the disease”.

The CCSA does allow governors of various provinces, including Bangkok, to apply stricter restrictions beyond those set by the prime minister. “It is not allowed to weaken the measures of the CCSA, but more restrictions can be imposed, if a governor deems it necessary,” said Taweesilp.

The Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) announced 315 new infections on Sunday. Thailand now has 7.694 corona infections and 64 deaths.

Still a euphemistic remark, if you see how the economy has already been affected. Apparently people don't see that or people don't want to see it.

For example, eating in restaurants remains allowed - today it was decided that dining is allowed until 21.00 p.m.

Cleverly played by the prime minister: no lockdown, but the governors in the province can decide for themselves.
If they go into lockdown, he can blame the governors.
Now I don't have to and lockdown either because they don't work. We know that now.
People also still speak of “contaminations” but those tests cannot determine that. We also do not know how the PCR test is handled in Thailand.
Just came from the Bangkok hospital in Huahin. Not a single covid patient admitted. Wouldn't be possible either, because 1 has been reported in Prachuabkhirikhan so far, according to the doctor on duty that I spoke to.

Still some reservations now that people are apparently weighing economic and health interests against each other.
Infection rates are closely related to the number of people who get tested – we have also seen this in the Netherlands and other countries. 315 Infections as stated are therefore, in addition to an improbably low, also an extremely unreliable figure for policy making, both nationally and locally.
The recent messages and measures are a clear indication that the number of infections is much higher than the 7694 cases mentioned above. The report from the Bangkok hospital: 1 patient means nothing, after all, private hospitals keep their doors closed as much as possible for non-paying and contagious covid cases.

The one identified patient, a 61-year-old woman, is in Hua Hin Hospital. She is from Bangkok and has a house in Hua Hin and a farm in Cha Am. In the past two weeks she has visited just about every place in Hua Hin and the surrounding area. So that could be something…

We just had dinner in Pattaya. At first it was said that only take-away meals were still possible, but apparently people can now eat on site again.

I also saw bars that were open and where Alcohol was drunk.

Can't keep up with it anymore. It seems to change every hour…..but that's pretty much everywhere in the world I notice.

Thailand now has a total of 7694 inhabitants who are infected, in the Netherlands alone more than this number are added every day.
Or there are many more infections in Thailand because people don't test here that we have no idea of.
If the number is correct, then it is not too bad here in Thailand.
Especially given the very low number of covid deaths.
There have been a lot more traffic deaths in recent days, but no one here cares about that.
Is not even news and has already been forgotten, except by the affected relatives.
Corona and again Corona you get up with it and you go to bed with it.

Prayut does not want a national lockdown because the call from the Thais to redress them then flares up again. No lockdown, no money to the population is the reasoning of the government.
And of course one can also count. Hardly anyone is dying of Covid here. So it won't be a disaster.
