Warning for flooding due to continuous rain
14 September 2012
The National Disaster Warning Center is issuing a warning for everyone north, east and south of Thailand, due to local heavy rainfall.
The warning applies today through Sunday. The persistent stir can lead to dangerous mudslides.
Residents near waterways in Chiang Rai, Lampang, Phayao, Phrae, Nan, Uttaradit, Trat, Chanthaburi, Ranong, Phang Nga, Phuket, Krabi and Satun should prepare for possible flooding, mudslides and landslides caused by heavy rain, so let a spokesman know.

Boy here we go again, not so good. I'll be curious to see how it turns out this time.
Not to hope that the mess will be white everywhere again.
I also think they don't do much about it. I mean by that, if you have a city like Bangkok, for example, every klong has almost been filled in or there is a thick skyscraper on it, and nothing new was ever added for the drainage, water simply does not flow into the concrete away.
I think that large foreign investors will not really put up with it once they have their feet in the water again.
Last year, for example, the prices of hard drives skyrocketed for that reason. Most people think that all that stuff comes from Silicon Valley, but almost all of it is produced in low-wage countries.
Deforestation, erosion, etc. take care of the rest, the water can hardly go anywhere there.
We just hope for the best.....
Really unbelievable, I believe they have thrown around 150 Billion Baht (or more) in the past year to ensure that there would be (almost) no nuisance this year.
Well it's still Amazing Thailand and you always have to wonder how much money was ultimately used to solve the problem (or at least tried to) and it ends up in the wrong pockets.
Anyway, you shouldn't believe everything that the newspapers write and what the TV shows, because Yingluck has promised everyone that there will be no floods and he knows about it 555+
