PTT Oil and Retail Business Plc (OR) is reviving its plan to build budget hotels at its petrol stations. This is part of the company's strategy to expand its non-oil business. OR is currently looking for a business advisor for this hotel project. The choice of an operator for the hotel chain will follow later.

These budget hotels will have between 50 and 100 rooms, and are aimed at budget-conscious travelers and OR sales representatives who travel to areas outside major cities. These hotels will not only offer accommodation options, but also access to various facilities such as food and beverage shops, a supermarket and a launderette. In addition, OR plans to integrate wellness, healthcare and beauty services into the fuel stations. The budget for this hotel project will take shape in June of next year.

The idea of developing budget hotels at gas stations is not new to OR; the company was already considering this between 2016 and 2017. However, the plan was delayed due to various concerns and problems at the parent company, PTT Plc. With the renewed focus on expanding non-oil related activities, OR also wants to transform some petrol stations into community centers without fuel supply, as part of a total image overhaul.

Until the end of September, OR, together with its partners, had 2.594 filling stations throughout the country. In addition, the company operates 4.432 Amazon-branded coffee shops and 2.277 supermarket stores.

This ambitious project is part of OR's investment budget for 2024. The focus is on electric mobility, sustainable energy, lifestyle-related companies and innovative and digital companies. OR is also exploring partnership opportunities in the personal care and nutritional supplement industries, and expects to invest more than 1 billion baht in these new business initiatives.

Here at the PTT pump along highway 22 there is already a low budget hotel. price per night 550 thb.
neat rooms with TV, air conditioning, private bathroom, refrigerator, soft beds and modern and sleek furnishings.
is often used by people passing through, and occasionally coach tourists.
and as with almost every PTT station, Amazon, 7-11 and food court a stone's throw away.
Oh yes, before I forget, you can also refuel there LOL.

      Hi Tooske,

At what level is this? We drove this road almost every day in October, usually between Nongmek and Nonghan, but also further towards Udon Thani. We hadn't noticed.
