The three northern provinces of Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai and Mae Hong Son are the hardest hit by the smog, the very dangerous particulate matter makes people sick and has to deal with respiratory and skin diseases, among other things.
The three provinces mentioned are among the seventeen provinces in the North that suffer greatly from air pollution and PM 2,5 particulate matter.
In frontrunner Mae Hong Son, the concentration is 194 mcg, well above the safety limit of 50 mcg used by the PCD and 25 mcg by the WHO.
Particulate matter levels are moderate in Bangkok, the Northeast and the Central Plains.

Of course, as some already mentioned yesterday, the government must do something for the agricultural sector, so that burning down their fields etc. is no longer necessary.
But to get a Thai government to that point, only the constant mention and warning by the international media, to the point of keeping tourists away, is apparently the only way to finally get there.
Praising expats or tourists, who still say that everything is not too bad, only works stupidly and counterproductive here.
I wonder what about an air conditioner are they equipped with the PM2.5 filters from the manufacturer or do you go to a hardware store and buy extra filters !!! , in that area where those small dust particles swirl around It is harmful if you get it inside your house how do they solve it in that area??. Or is an extra filter mat placed to protect those small dust particles.
Are there people who live in that area and take precautions for such a thing???
Sad that the Thai government allows this to happen. For me that was the reason to avoid the above area in recent years.
Also with us in Kanchanaburi it is very bad this time of year.
Currently March 13, 1000 it stands at 168.

It's been the same story every year as long as I've lived here, in my personal experience it just gets worse and worse.
Wherever I look around me it is one gray mass.
I live 40 km south of Chiangmai and see the smog hanging between the loomyai trees from my window.
When the man and his sister now living in Dubai ruled here, the smog was already cut, and now many governments and coups later it is still the same.
Prayut was in Chiangmai for a day last year to look and the only thing he said was that the smog was not just from Thailand.
The present majesty was only concerned, and that's it.
