Pattaya is the top destination for Thai family holidays
According to a survey conducted by Agoda, the resort town of Pattaya in Thailand is recognized as the top choice for Thai families when it comes to holiday destinations.
The famous online travel agency, which specializes in providing bookings for hotels, resorts, apartments and other types of accommodation around the world, says Pattaya is the number one holiday destination for Thai 'family', followed by Hua Hin/Cha-am in second place and Phuket in third place.
This ranking is based on data from accommodation searches by Thai travelers during the beginning of last year, according to Agoda.
The reason why Pattaya is the best choice is because Thai families mainly want to relax and spend quality time together in the coastal city, says Peeraphon Sa-nga-muang, director of Agoda Thailand.
The complete list of the top 10 destinations in Thailand for Thai families is”
- Pattaya
- Hua Hin/Cha-am
- Phuket
- Bangkok
- Chiang Mai
- Chonburi
- Khao Yai
- Krabi
- Rayong
- Koh Samet
Additionally, another Agoda study, which collected responses from 14.000 travelers, found that the top 3 activities Thai people choose to do when traveling with their families are:
- visiting important points of interest in the province.
- drinking coffee while enjoying the beach atmosphere.
- have fun with amusement and water parks.

OOF,
Fortunately, Chumphon or the immediate vicinity is not on that list…. Whew Whew POOF……
Uncle Addie, don't worry, Chumphon stays safe, there isn't much to do that tourists want, just keep enjoying the peace and quiet, as you get older you just look at it differently.
Still interesting to see.
This is because the Dutch associate the places Pattaya and Phuket in a certain way, while these cities have more to offer of course.
And I also notice that many Thai people already go to Phuket or Patataya.
Many people from BKK come to Pattaya and Hua Hin/Chaam on weekends. There are even many who have a special apartment for that.
Right Bert, the motorway from Bangkok to Pattaya is packed with vehicles coming from Bangkok every weekend.
They won't see me there from Friday. When I go to Pattaya it is always during the week, then it is (except for the trucks) relatively quiet on the track.
Cha am very busy during the weekend, but during the week it's a great spot, I think the beach is better than Hua Hinn.
