There will be 9.000 additional quarantine shelter places for Thai citizens returning from abroad.

Defense Ministry spokesman Kongcheep Tantravanich said on Saturday that the decision was made by the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Health after learning that many more Thais wanted to travel back to Thailand than had been assumed.

Kongcheep said the government is now allowing 500 Thais a day to return home, which was previously 400 a day, so the ministries have deployed an additional 9.000 hotel rooms to be used as quarantine facilities.

All returnees will be placed in state quarantine for 14 days to ensure they have not contracted Covid-19. They are tested for the virus twice during quarantine. The first test is performed on the fifth day of their stay and the second on the twelfth day. Should anyone have contracted Covid-19, the patient will be immediately sent to a hospital.

As of June 19, 1 Thais have already returned home, according to the Center for Covid-30.019 Situation Administration (CCSA).

After a positive test, they are immediately sent to the hospital?
Don't get it, just observe and they are isolated, aren't they?

I, as is often the case, do not understand the Thai way of calculating…. An extra 100 Thai return per day and have to be quarantined for 14 days. Then you only need 1400 extra hotel rooms, and not 9000? After 14 days, another 100 rooms will become available that can be used for the next extra returnees. And I have read before that 2 men (m/f) are placed in 1 room, so then you only need 700 extra rooms. Or am I missing something?

For a good calculation, it is important to know how many Thai people are returning from abroad and how many are currently in quarantine. 🙂 If two can be in a room, there may only be 4500 rooms or spaces available, but then there can still be 9000 reception places (beds) Probably on to the hospital to be sure or to make a good impression. Incomplete journalism of the BP ?

I would like to know the expenses.
Test of covid made in Thailand costs around 1500 baht. (rumor)
    China is testing 500 baht.
14 days stay both for Thai and foreigners.
