Transport minister Saksayam wants to spend 8 billion baht for the construction of an airport in the southern provinces of Phatthalung and Satun to stimulate tourism to the South.

The minister has asked the Department of Airports, which manages the provincial airports, to conduct a feasibility study for the project in Phatthalung, which will include a 2 km runway on an area of ​​3.000 rai.
