Reader question: Experience sending goods by boat from Thailand?
Dear readers,
My wife and I have signed a contract agreement with 10 organic beekeepers in the region of Phrae and Lamphun to export 100% organic monofloral raw honey to Belgium. The lab results of the “Central Laboratory (Thailand) Co.Ltd.” are extremely good for this type of honey.
In 2018 we would receive 3 deliveries of this delicious tasting honey from Longan blossoms for the first time. Despite the fact that we have lab results from Thailand, a lab analysis is also being carried out by the Institute for Agricultural and Fisheries Research in Melle. On our label we will place the name of the Thai beekeeper, as well as the year of harvest, the place of harvest, important lab results from Chiang Mai as well as those from ILVO, shelf life and so on. We want full transparency towards our customers.
Our question: does anyone know of a shipping company that has the line from Bangkok (or other port in Thailand) to Zeebrugge or Antwerp or Rotterdam on its program? It would always be +/- 20 tons.
Does anyone have experience with sending/transporting goods by boat from Thailand?
Best regards,
Andre

Do LV Shipping in Rotterdam, ask for Christina. He arranges everything for you. I have been working with them for 4-5 years with no problems so far.

Company from Antwerp has agents all over the world who will give you full transparent service and corruption free. I used to work with them for goods from China. The advantage is, if there is a problem they solve it and if you have a Thai agent, you may have to come and solve it yourself.
Try Evergreen (the parent company of eva air, among others) http://www.evergreen-shipping.co.th/
Fill in the place of departure and arrival and you will get a complete overview, almost daily to den Bels.

At least I assume that with 20 tons you should quickly think of a 20 ft container depending on the packaging.
fff googling there are probably plenty of thai forwarding companies that provide this service.
Bringing food to the EU, which I have been doing since 1977, but a "monkey" can still do it. Being able to present the required documentation regarding sufficient food safety to the FASFC (or NVWA) … that is a completely different story. As an importer into the EU, you are treated as the manufacturer IN the EU.

Dear André, please contact Stefan van der Sluys at: [email protected] Best Globel has weekly cash sailings from Bangkok to Rotterdam. Will certainly also serve Antwerp, but we do not use it. Good luck. m.f.gr. Paul (Infixum, Coat Hangers)
Please contact first [email protected]. Highly skilled employee from Chiangmai working with Schenker (Thai) LTD. Hu offices and storage rooms are located at 506 MOO 7 Wongwaen 2 rdt. Maehea Chiangmai 50100 These provide all storage; forms; shipping and delivery in Belgium (Antwerp).
Be careful with foodstuffs. Special permit required in Belgium, but you will have discovered that yourself.
We've worked with Noppakao Dee-Inn for years, and she's super helpful. Give her greetings from Michel and Ann from Belgium.
We ship up to 5 containers per week with semi-fresh goods from Thailand to NL. just send an email to pjkeijzer at yahoo dot com for advice
Apart from all the advice above, I would first look at the packaging in omni boxes, crates or crates and then how many of these packages go in a 20 or 40 foot container. That makes transport much cheaper. Then I would enter into consultation with a Belgian carrier who has agents in Thailand without further ado. Or if you are staying in Thailand with the many carriers in Laem Chabang province of Chonburi from where the container ships depart. There are too many. Please note that this carrier has an agent in Antwerp (or Rotterdam). The container or just the content also has to go to its final destination.
success.
Bob, good tips. Best Global Logistics (as previously suggested by me) comply with all these recommendations. Have an office in Bangkok and Rotterdam, ship LCL and FCL from Laem Chabang and can help or advise on all aspects of international container transport. They have an agent or may also be in Antwerp themselves. Dutch speaking staff permanently present in their BKK office. Good luck Andre.
