The Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) is today in talks with representatives from airlines, the Ministry of Health and ICAO about resuming international flights in July.
Agreements must be made for prevention measures such as social distancing in aircraft and at airports, guidelines for on-board catering and quarantine areas in aircraft.
When international commercial air traffic resumes on July 1, priority will be given first to business travel. Business travelers should take into account a possible quarantine and be prepared to pay any medical costs.
Tourists from safe countries will be admitted later, but CAAT director general Chula does not expect this to be the case next month.
Prayut: Limited number of tourists from safe countries
The above is further confirmed by Prime Minister Prayut. For the time being, incoming tourism is bound to restrictions on destinations and visitor numbers. Only visitors from countries with which Thailand has made agreements are allowed. Those are countries that have proven to manage the pandemic.
The government is still considering which areas tourists will be allowed to go to when the ban is lifted. Adequate prevention measures must be taken there, including social distancing.

Which are those safe countries? Do the Netherlands and Belgium fall under this? It is hard for me to imagine that China would be a Covid 19 safe country given the latest developments.
Uncertainty trumps and that is killing for international tourism.
If you have read the recent posts carefully you can determine that
Thailand cares little about tourists, in fact, they don't care one bit.
A few days ago, the government announced that it would stimulate its own population more
To visit their country and boost the Chinese market
Nice and handy when Beijing is full of contamination and lockdown again
Very handy
I'm getting pretty tired of this by now. For 3 weeks I have been reading reports that Thailand is coming up with an official statement. All we hear are generals (ministers?) with all sorts of ideas. We have tickets for July 2 with Eva air and know for 99,9% that the trip will not take place, but officially no one can confirm that. Bmair travel answers that according to their info Thailand will open again on July 1 and when I ask what that info is based on, I don't get an answer anymore. We are looking around for a holiday within Europe but can't do anything yet as long as we don't receive an official message that the trip has been cancelled.
Follow the news http://www.bangkokpost.com
Just assume that no tourist enters Thailand in July.
EVA does not fly on July 2. The next flight is July 4, I was informed by EVA. You have booked elsewhere and have apparently not been informed.
Dear,
We also had a ticket from Eva Air for the date July 2, Eva had converted this last week to departure July 4. If you take a look at Eva AIr's site, you can see that July will only be flown on Saturdays, so you can forget about July 2. In fact, our story is that Eva Air had converted the ticket to departure on July 4 last week. I have received an email from Eva Air with the new E-ticket.
However, I had booked the ticket through Gate1, and on their site this new flight was canceled on July 4th. So strange situation. Eva air called and she confirmed that the flight of July 4 had also been canceled and the flight was therefore canceled at all. Yesterday I received a voucher from Gate1 for the entire amount and the separate seat reservation from Eva Air is already on our account.
So I would call Eva Air again and ask if this is all correct that July 4th. BM Air can simply cancel the flight with a refund with Eva Air, which is what Gate1 did, and we are happy with it. Good luck hope you get it out soon.
All confusing. I just checked my EVA flight to AMS on July 4 and it is still confirmed. But nothing surprises me anymore.....
By the way: are you perhaps talking about the AMS – BKK route? Then eea could of course be correct because you are not allowed to enter Thailand. EVA will then probably fly back directly to Taipei.
Hello Cornelius,
Correct, what you say is correct, outward journey initially moved from 2 to 4 July AMS-BKK, return journey 1 August BKK-AMS. However, now canceled and received a voucher within 4 days of GATE1.
Strange, because last week I was called by Bmair travel that the eva air flight of July 7 is canceled and can be extended for free by 1 year or payment with a deduction of 100 euros per ticket! ….?
That deduction of 100 euros seems to me not to be applied by the airline, but by the travel agent - or am I wrong?
That's right, Bmair travel charges 100 euros per ticket at its own expense ....? to cover . When booked directly with eva air, no costs are charged by eva air.
Same with us. I understand that eva air will only fly on Saturdays. Strange that they didn't try to book you. We fly with Turkish airlines, they say they just fly. I think Bmair will wait just as long to see if the flights are not canceled after all. Of course we will not enter Thailand! We are also waiting for a message. (should go July 4th)
What I still don't understand at all is…….doesn't anyone come up with the idea to allow foreigners who own property or family, or rent a condo there, for example, to return? Isn't that the job of the people at the consulates? When I call the Thai consulate in Antwerp, I get such an arrogant (Belgian) employee on the phone who tells me that he 'does not have a crystal ball' and that he THINKS that the borders will only be carefully opened by the end of the year. open. So nothing official. Then just say: 'Sir, sorry, but I can't help you any further', full stop. With guesses and black viewing we are not moving forward!
I see all the negative reactions here if the consulate would suffice with the statement 'I can't help you further'……
The Thai government really doesn't care about you because you may have property or family in Thailand, that's really the last of their worries.
If you follow the reports and the situation about Thailand, you will undoubtedly have noticed that Thailand has absolutely no interest in bringing in Western tourists.
They focus on Asian countries and China in particular. The Chinese will be the first tourists to visit Thailand again, but because there have been new infections recently, there is no question of it in the near future. Whose bread one eats, whose language one speaks, and so Prayut will first look at China.
Goodbye,
I read above of this article, there must be agreements and preference measures about social distance in airplanes.
I read nothing else all week that it is 100% safe to travel in a full plane thanks to the fantastic air renewal system with Hepa filters.
Even Van Dissel be it the day before yesterday.
Because if we continue to fly with a seat occupied and an empty seat, the tickets could become quite expensive in the future.
Jan Beute.
All very clear to me. They don't want me as a visitor or tourist !! And that is a prerequisite when I go somewhere. So good luck, greetings and I'll try somewhere else.
Gr. Sheng
EVA air flies to Bangkok 3 times a week in July. 2 times with cargo, in the hold and on the seats. And 1 time with passengers, if they have permission to enter Thailand.
Bron, an EVA air employee.
Kind regards, Dik Lenten.
First it's July that we can go, now it's August…..understand who can understand, it makes you sick.
I am married to Thai and 2 children in my name, can someone tell me now if I have a chance in July? Thank you for info.
Yes you have a chance, but just like with the lotto you will have to wait until the draw is….
Thailand wants to get rid of European tourists and focuses on neighboring Asian countries.
Thailand is no longer the land of smiles because the Thai in the big cities treat all foreigners very rudely and roughly always try to rip you off.
I'm staying in Myanmar and I'm having a good time because it still has the old Thai feel of the 80's and 90's and a lot cheaper.
My advice is to travel to Myanmar and enjoy yourself because time has really stood still here, but nice and hospitable people. The downside is that they do not speak English, so with only gestures or a translator you can go a long way.
regards

I'm in LAOS, I flew last October eva air from Amsterdam to Bangkok Thailand return 30 April Fly from Bangkok to Amsterdam cancel . Cancel New Ticket 4th of June back to the Netherlands, now Ticket 4th of July Saturday, but I can't enter Thailand from Laos. Good luck gr.jan Hoogeveen
Perhaps the date has something to do with the problems at Thai Airways. They try to start on August 1. Bankruptcy is imminent.
I am leaving October 13th hope it continues brussels bangkok
I would be aware that this will not work.
Currently I am still in Thailand and would like to go back to Belgium to arrange a few things. As long as I have no certainty that I can enter Thailand again, I will stay here.
Goodbye,
