The municipality of Bangkok will invest 150 million baht in the development of a 15 km long network of canals in Thonburi. This tourist attraction can also be used as an alternative transport network in the capital.
For example, there will be 30 longtail boats that will sail across the network to take tourists to temples and other sights along the canal. There will be a special day ticket so that passengers can make unlimited use of it for a day.
The boats will moor at Wat Suwannaram, built in the Ayutthaya era with statues of monks and historical murals, and Wat Srisudaran from the same period, where the famous poet Sunthorn Phu was initiated as a monk.
Other destinations include Wat Taling Chan, Taling Chan floating market, Bang Ramat canal, orchards, a mosque and Khlong Bang Luang where old crafts can be seen.
Multicultural communities of Loatians, Mon and Muslims can also be found on the banks of the old canals.

Well,
Let's hope they are electric boats and not those longtail boats with a car engine on it.
