It will be very exciting for residents in the provinces of Pathum Thani, Nonthaburi and Bangkok from Monday to Wednesday.

The Chao Phraya River will reach its highest water level in the coming days. It will then have to be seen whether possible flooding remains limited. The combination with the spring tide and the high sea level makes the situation even more critical.

Evacuation and sandbags

The Royal Irrigation Department yesterday warned the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration to take extra measures against a possible flood. The banks of the Chao Phraya River are especially vulnerable. Weak spots are filled with sandbags. Riverside residents in Pathum Thani, Nonthaburi and Bangkok have been advised to move valuables and pets to higher areas.

Electrocuted

Since yesterday, the floods, the worst in many years, hit 27 counties and killed 33 people. Some of them were electrocuted by live wires that ended up in the water.
