Pattaya offers a very varied nightlife, you can easily say: something for everyone. Tourist or expat, young or old, man or woman, straight or gay, it makes a difference Pattaya no matter, you will find what you are looking for.

Saturday night is night out, so it's also time for this blogger to worship Bacchus. With an empty stomach in Pattaya go out not a good idea. In every street you will find several restaurants, so plenty of choice. Some restaurants like Leng Kee are even open 24 hours a day. Eating by the sea is great at the Beergarden just before Walking Street. If it is still too early to have a beer, you can of course go to Megabreak to play pool.

Where to?

If you have not yet decided on your choice at the beginning of the evening, it is good to know where to go for what. Second Road and Beach Road offer a variety of bars, many of which have swinging live music. There are nice cover bands that play music from Queen, Rolling Stones, Dire Straits, etc. Perfectly suited for an older audience. If you want to go somewhere a bit busier, just get on the Baht bus (Songtaew) and let it drive you around for 10 baht. Then you can stop if you see something you like. From the small hours, the Bamboo bar (left at the entrance to Walking Street) is cozy and a gathering place for ladies looking for business.

Discos

Young people flock to the discotheques on Walking Street. At midnight a good Hip Hop band plays in Lucifer, highly recommended for lovers of this kind of music. At the end of Walking street you will find a large discotheque with two different rooms. Of course there is also Club Insomnia, Marine Disco and much more if you want to dance.

Walking Street itself is constantly changing, it is mainly a coming and going of Gogo bars. Still, at the beginning of Walking Street on the left, I noticed a wonderful new bar with a live band. A real asset.

However, most expats ignore Walking Street, they go to Soi Buakhao for entertainment, an elongated street with many small and larger bars. You will find fewer tourists here and the atmosphere is more relaxed.

There's more

Has all the above been said? No, certainly not because there are also jazz clubs, cabaret shows, cinemas, you name it. Jomtien and Naklua now also have an extensive range of entertainment venues. Too many to mention.

Nowhere in Thailand will you find such an extensive and varied nightlife. Only Bangkok could rival Pattaya, but the main difference is that the nightlife in Pattaya is much more concentrated. Most entertainment venues are within walking distance here and you will not succeed in Bangkok.

My favorite nightclub in Pattaya is 'The Pier'. The advantage of such occasions is often that there is no morlam and lucktung to be heard that I personally have nothing to do with and not a well-intentioned cover band that wants to play the well-known songs from the Top 2000 again.

If you are looking for entertainment in Jomtien
can I recommend the following locations
    Beach Road all the way
Soi 3, soi 4 soi 5 soi 6 soi 7 and a little further a short soi but with many bars etc.
    On second road
a restaurant and cheap and delicious food both Thai and European food
Here is also a market place where you can eat in the open air, typical Thai food tents
    for each his own
opposite this martplaats a very wide range of all kinds of bars and shops
These bars are frequented by British people, almost every bar has a billiard table (pool).
On the Beach road there is also a night market with many small restaurants, well worth a visit

    Enjoy it

It's been a long time for me since I've been to Pattaya. I used to visit the Bamboe bar, nice to read that it still exists and that bands still perform. There was always a nice relaxed atmosphere. Hope to go to Pattaya again soon.. Quite a lot will have changed, but that has been going on for a long time. The first time I came was about 30 years ago, then I went again 5 years later. Even then I could notice the difference. I was last there 6 years ago with my Thai girlfriend from Koh Chang. I think you should see everything once so I went to a GoGo bar with her. I didn't know what I saw, topless service and at the end the girls were dancing stark naked on the tables. In that bar we got into a conversation with some of these girls and they turned out to be super nice. So it is still there, but I am afraid that everything is hardening with all the misery that entails. I think it's the worst for those girls. I don't know if it's true but I heard that there are also Russian prostitutes there nowadays, if that's true then the end is in sight. In no time, crime will rise above pleasure. Really bad because I found Pattaya unique in the world

For the true blues lover I recommend Leo Blues Bar, located in Naklua. http://leobluesbarpattaya.net/
Many old members of Susie quatro and Duran etc. live in Pattaya and perform there regularly.
    Soi Wongamat !8 Naklua.

I always enjoy coming to The Moon River Pub; a great Philippine band that plays just about every song (also on request). North Pattaya Road, about a 5 minute walk from the Dolfin roundabout.

      Dear Job,

The Moon River Pub has been closed for a year and will not open for a while.
      Sincerely,

I liked going to Pattaya because of the good live bands, specifically 'The Blues Factory bar', in the middle of Walking Street on the left side…. but it's a pity on the “regression” because I think the best bands play there… Always 'great'! What is also nice is the first real Thai bar on the right side at the beginning of Walking street. Cool band every evening with a show and the drink is cheaper than elsewhere. 'Funny' show all night there! And with a bit of luck you will meet nice native ladies there….

Furthermore, I think the boullevard is still good for walking, but you have to be on your guard in the evening and at night.
Nice if you want to talk…. but keep an eye on your wallet!

    Chockdee Khap!
    Serge

After reading all the comments mentioning excellent locations, I still miss the “Pattaya Beer Garden”.
I personally have had it with all that noise in the countless bars of the Walking Street, that's why I find the PBG a relief, nice and quiet sitting on the deck with a view of the sea or just at the immensely large bar, which also often has fun company, especially in the evening.
Good music is played and played on various large TV screens, all at an acceptable sound level so that you can also have a conversation.
You can also eat there and it is of good quality, just open the menu.
In short, an oasis of peace and coziness just before the start of the noisy Walking Street.

    Hello…

My favorite pub is The Marquee on soi buakhao, if you come from pattaya Thai, about after 1 km opposite a jeweler and an Atm… Singa 55 bth… just before you have a soi that goes to second road, on the right a food market, 100 meters further on the left side, Alex bar; Singha 45 bath, sister of the owner of The Marquee…

At the end of that soi you come to second road, go to the right, you have the corner bar on the corner of soi 6, very good, the boss often comes by with free sandwiches, go further, you have on soi 4 a very good music bar, keep driving, you will come to the end of the bend on Beach Road… always straight past Pattaya Thai, you have soi 8 and 7… on the corner of soi 8 you have a very big pool bar, go enter soi 7, after 100 meters on the left you have Sailor Bar and restaurant, very cheap and good food… go back to second road, cross to soi Buakhao, if you are by bike, that is, because second road is a one-way street , otherwise you do it on foot, but by bike, go on soi Buakhao to the right, after 2 km into soi Diana, back to second road, go to the right, 50 meters further you have Kiss restaurant, dirt cheap, and just before you have a gallery, enter 20 meters, and on the right side you have a Belgian restaurant, where you can eat tasty steaks, and there are dozens more…

In Pattaya, the word boredom does not exist!!!

    Enjoy it!!!

    Rudy.,

Going out Halo as a couple of 50 + , younger and older is also allowed , is for us Beachroad at the height of soi 8 and soi 7
the lucky star bar enjoys the hustle and bustle on the street during the day and the hawkers enjoy, (who know you after a few, no longer ask if you want to buy something, but have a nice chat with you about, for example, how bad sales are going, ( don't be annoying or try to fool them, it is much appreciated, those people are also trying to make a living.)
In the evening a nice band plays .
A little further towards soi 7 is the WE are the world bar, a band also plays here. Although this year was a very bad one, but lovely people, who also greet you as a regular customer after a few days, without any ulterior motive.
When you walk out of soi 8 , cross second road and a little to the left , there you have a street with left and right and in the middle also all kinds of bars , where you can also have a very nice time if you find the right bar for yourself .
For us that is Janes 's bar , almost the last of the middle bars .
There they have a large TV with videos of old music , and always the regular customers , mostly English but certainly also Dutch and Belgians .
The price of a Singha beer costs between 50 and 60 baht at these places
We also sometimes go to Walking Street when we are in Thailand for 3 months , but that is usually just to walk through it , is there room on a terrace , we sit down for a while , drink 1 or 2 and then quickly go to the soi 7/8 neighborhood.

And not to forget the small bars where some speak Dutch, such as “Korn Beer Bar” in Soi Chaiyapoon.
The bar with adapted music, nice lighting, charming waitresses and sometimes a free snack...
    Worth taking a look…

Let me also leave some advice for the GAYS among us.
The formerly popular Sunny Plaza is completely dead, most things closed, a ghost city.
Boyztown, isn't what it used to be either. Before, when Jimmy was still in charge, it was a perfect entertainment district for gays. There is nothing wrong with it yet, but it is different and in my opinion less of quality, although there are still quite a few nice bars and shows.
The nicest is Jomtien complex, as the name says: in Jomtien, coming from Pattaya on the right, before you have to turn the corner to beach road. A very pleasant nightlife district with a generous selection of gay bars, boys bars, and two show theaters: the Venue and M2M, of which I personally think the latter is the best. The Venue starts at 22.00 PM, M2M at 23.00 PM. The whole atmosphere in Jomtien complex is relaxed, exuberant, a mix of international visitors and Thai boys. Highly recommended for GAYS!

I think The Venue is much better than M2m…………. is much more professional !!!

Nice to see all those tips passing by. Thanks for that guys. I have a specific tip myself. If you are going out with a group of men who want to party in a slightly higher gear, I can recommend a good warm-up tent. On the Walking Street, after about 150 meters on the left is the Ice Room (part of the V20 bar). It's super cold in the Ice Room. Take a shot there, try to warm up with a Polar bear. Man oh man did we laugh there.

I miss “my” bar in walking street here. the tune bar. rock, hard rock and heavy metal. If your elf likes this style. can play or sing step up to the band and join in the fun.
Surprised a year or two ago by a performance by Lothar Heinburg and Michael Schenker, former members of the Scorpions, was really great. Also once heard and seen the singer of another German rock band perform and sing there.

Heard from a Thai friend that Ian Gillan of Deep Purple once went there to jam. I don't know if it's true. Well, once a singer of one

You can always find me in the Insomnia, WS late at night, or early in the morning.
Reminds me of my early years in the Boccaccio Destelbergen, where I had a wonderful time. But as a 50+ person in Belgium you can no longer enter such clubs without being watched. Well in Pattaya you are still welcome and you can expect pleasant company.

Somebody tell me where to find those jazz clubs. I like to listen to jazz, but as far as I know there is not a single jazz club or jazz bar (Doesn't have live music) in Pattaya. Only bars with 70s-80s music. All bars the same music, I'm slowly getting out of the "throat pipe" 🙂
