The month of July gets off to a restless start

For many, the beginning of the month of July will be experienced as a restless start. The date the entertainment industry was allowed to reopen. Schools are also reopening after being closed for months.

Even before the opening, Pattaya was shaken by the huge fire at Sukhawadee on Sukhumvit Road, causing irreparable damage to the many accumulated art treasures.

Elsewhere in the city, after many months of being closed, restaurants and bars are trying to open again. No small task after months of downtime and maintenance. However, a majority is waiting for more tourists to be allowed in Thailand and for the, according to them, ridiculous 22 measures that must be observed to be reduced to normal proportions!

As writing on the wall, tropical rain showers broke loose on the evening of July 1, with not even a “stray dog” to be seen. And that on the eve of the Buddhist spring, which will start July 6. This means, among other things, that the schools close again after a few days for a short holiday. For some, that's already the 4th of July!

The very famous “Candle Festival” in Ratchathani at Thung Si Mueang will take place between July 3 and July 7 to mark the start of Buddhist Lent. This, however, under strict conditions of 2.000 spectators per parade of the floats. A completely different event than people have been used to for over 100 years. The spectators are screened in advance with the usual ritual: temperature measurement, use of hand gel and face mask!

The Buddhist Lent will be quite a task after the corona time.

    Well,

    twenty-two measures!
And a virus that mutates quietly, so we can forget about a vaccine.
The death rate from “common influenza” is slightly surpassed worldwide by covid 19.

Loosely translated to Nietsche; Madness rarely occurs in individuals, but is the rule in groups, parties and countries.

    Nice weekend!

      This isn't forever!
      It's just for now.
