The coffee mug
Although the Thai does not really differ much from the Dutch, you sometimes experience something in Thailand that you will not easily experience in the Netherlands. Today: The Coffee Mug.
The Coffee Mug
My wife had a new employee, a woman of about 40 years old. She had a peculiar habit, which was that she preferred to use my favorite coffee mug to drink coffee from, even though there were plenty of other cups and cups.
Now she always cleaned that mug and I usually only have coffee once a day so I didn't make a big deal out of that. She had another striking habit, which was that she had a marked interest in men, whether they were married or not and much older than she was, none of which mattered to her. Whether she was interested in me I don't know; it wasn't exactly my type, and then certain signals escaped me.
However, it was not a very hard-working person and although our employees do not have to work really hard, my wife did let her know at a certain point that she was no longer needed.
Nothing special happened on the last day she was with us, but the next morning I noticed that my coffee mug had disappeared. Now I don't really attach myself to such objects so I didn't mind. But why would she bring something like that? I have heard stories of women using men's hair or nails - with the help of a monk, of course - to gain power over that man. Was that why she brought that mug?
I haven't noticed anything special in the months since, so mugs are apparently unsuitable for that. Or, of course, I am immune to such influence. It'll be the last.
About this blogger
- Born in 1950, married in Thailand in 1977, emigrated in 2011. Two wonderful children and 5 lovely grandchildren. We now live together in Isaan with the first neighbours at about 250 m. We have not even left the province of Ubon for 5 years. Going out: eating out a few times a month. Boring? Isolated? No. The photo shows how I live here: outside, surrounded by nature, dressed lightly, to my liking and occasionally visiting, such as from great-grandchild Nalin. “Behind”, because her mother calls us grandma and grandpa. Hobby: searching for reliable news sources.

Nice story. Only I wouldn't appreciate someone drinking from my mug.
I might be a little weird about this sort of thing, but we each have our own favorite mug and no one else drinks from it. Our fellow householder also wanted to use my mug at first. I then kindly asked them not to do this and they adhere to that
Agree Nicky.
But Hans this message from you shows that she is already gaining power.
Otherwise you wouldn't be writing about this after months 😉
