Dear readers,

I was on Pattaya beach yesterday for the countdown. When someone wanted to release such a burning lantern into the air, the police took action and prohibited this.

Later I saw vendors on the beach selling things and just before 12 o'clock quite a few went up in the air. Hence my question are they banned in Thailand these days or not?

Regards,

Harold

  1. Ronny Cha Am says up

Yesterday in Cha Am it was no problem, all evening they were sent to heaven.

  2. WilChang says up

Dozens of wishing balloons were also released in Pak Chong last night.

Increasingly banned, also outside Asia, because of the (fire) danger and the polluting aspect.
