Dear readers,

I have Crohn's disease and have to take an injection of the drug Yuflyma 14 mg every 40 days. These are packed in a pre-filled pen and must be kept refrigerated. These contain sodium cetate trihydrate, glycine and polysorbate 80. Here are 2 questions:

  1. Do I need a special document to travel from Belgium via Vienna to Thailand?
  2. How do I keep it cool during the entire trip (about 20 hours)? I have a cooler bag.

Regards,

Vincent

Vincent, just talk to the head flight attendant and they will put it in the refrigerator for you during the flight(s).

Vincent, for the question of whether you MAY take the drug with you, there is this link, and see point 3 there.

For the Netherlands there is an arrangement via Het CAK.

Follow the rules of the game; then you do not run the risk of bringing a prohibited or restricted substance with you that could get you into trouble or be taken away from you.
