Reader question: Is the vineyard at Hua Hin interesting?
Dear readers,
I have heard several times that the visit to the Hua Hin vineyard is definitely worth it. However, I can find little or no information. Even on their own website there is little information. Well that they do tours, that you can dine and
samples. But nowhere no prices or duration of such a tour.
Do any of the readers know this vineyard and the possibilities? Anyone have experience with it, is it worth it?
I would like to hear from you.
Greetings,
Erik
1700 Baht, including wine and three-course meal, excluding optional and unnecessary elephant ride, according to the description of this video on YouTube.

Van departs at 10.30:15.00 and 13.30:18.00 from the affiliated store in Hua Hin, arriving at XNUMX:XNUMX and XNUMX:XNUMX respectively. back at XNUMX:XNUMX PM.
Searching for vineyard hua hin on YouTube yields a few more videos and the store can probably tell you more.
With all due respect, it seems to me more of a curiosity, nice to visit to have something to do, than that a memorable oenological experience will be experienced here.
Dear Erik, I've been there for lunch a few times already. Looks neat and reservation is possible and even recommended for the week-ends. Have also reserved it mid-weeks because you never know if large groups of tourists are coming. You can also take a tour by elephant, but from the balcony the view of the vineyards is quite beautiful. Well, I don't have the prices here either, but for a simple lunch I soon paid more than 2000 Baht for 3 people. If you are a wine lover, the price goes up considerably for lunch and for a dinner with wine you pay considerably more. Nice to do that once in a while but certainly not every month and nice because it can be done with a visit and you are back under the roof for a few hours.
I was there at the end of 2012. Vineyard is not really big. When you get there, you can sign up for a guided tour. Tour was also possible on the back of an elephant……….
Is told here and there. Wines and food are pricey for Thai standards, but it is tasty! It is suitable for a “short” outing.
I would say go see and taste for yourself! It is and was worth it for us and certainly not for 1x.
The vineyards at Hua Hin are more than worth a visit. Because we live in HH, we come there at least 3 to 4 times a year, with or without guests, always in a different season, so a different view every time. You can reach the Vineyards:
– by car or motorbike from HH (approx. 35 km), a nice trip with beautiful views or
– you can take a taxi, costs unknown or book a tour. (I personally don't think so
necessary but who am I?)
There are actually no costs associated with visiting the Vineyards. You can walk around freely, drive around or rent an all-terrain vehicle with a driver. They grow different types of grapes, including Souvignon, Merlot, red, white, sweet and dry. You can taste them in the associated restaurant where you have a beautiful view, enjoy!!! The prices for food and drinks can be called European but remain reasonable. Furthermore, it is not recommended to take a ride on an elephant, but watching them is just as much fun and saves their backs. The elephants also have an interesting herb and vegetable garden for their own use, which is always a treat to smell and taste the different herbs. As far as I'm concerned, highly recommended!
I would also like to know.
Yes, it's definitely fun to watch. You imagine yourself in Italy with a large vineyard and olive trees. The higher restaurant has a nice view. Nice to have a bite to eat on the terrace with a glass of wine. It is all very nicely and qualitatively laid out.
It is a beautiful area and from the restaurant you have a magnificent view over the vineyard and the surrounding mountains. When I was there a while ago you could do a guided tour in the vineyards, afterwards you got a wine tasting and a 3-course gourmet lunch (or dinner) for 2500 bath pp. This was the only package available at the time. Extremely expensive but still a pleasant experience. As for the wines, they are just Thai wines and so nothing special. The vineyard and winery are located on the Pala U road, approximately 20-25 km west of Hua Hin.

They also have a tasting room and restaurant opposite Vila Market in the center. Regularly there is a promotion at 80 baht for a glass of wine.

Loved the area there very much. The beautiful restaurant by the vineyard is very good. Not really cheap, but very well maintained! We thought it was very worth it! We were there three years ago, think there is a lot more to see now.
We went there last year.
Food was relatively pricey and not very good, but the latter may be a snapshot.
The environment is nice and photogenic and it breaks a bit with all the what's etc that you see otherwise.
All in all well worth it.
I was there in March with family and then we did a tour of the vineyard. Stopping everywhere, tasting grapes and then tasting the wine made from those grapes. Add crackers. Very nice, tasty and cosy.
So thought to do the same last week with friends who were over. But unfortunately they only do those tours in February and March when grapes are growing on the vines…
So now take a look independently. A ride on the back of an elephant was still an option, but we decided against that.
Otherwise, it's a wonderful, albeit horribly expensive, place for coffee, lunch, and dinner.
So, as far as I'm concerned, it's highly recommended. But go in season if you have that choice.
Thank you all for the helpful responses.
Regards ,
Erik
